Potions
The Potions class is held underground, near the Dracoslyther Common Room and underneath the Death Lake. There are four long tables, placed horizontally, instead of 4 rows of 5 desks. Underneath the tables are drawers and little shelves, in which are cauldrons, ladles, and space for your books. The Potions Master is Vincent Porphyrius Corwyth, who is in Penniluff.

Professor Corwyth stepped into the empty classroom. He stared at the empty tables neatly aligned to each other. Lyreade was at a low of students. He sighed, and waited for his students to arrive.
ReplyDeletePollux stumbled into the room, holding a butterbeer. Professor Corwyth raised his eyebrows at the sight of the butterbeer, but said nothing. Pollux quickly hid it in his pocket, which had an Undetectable Extension Charm he put on it last night. He dumped his books onto the table, then put them, one by one, under the tables in the spaces. He sat down.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth sighed. Finally his first student had arrived. He had by waiting for 4 days (lol jk).
Leon waddled into the room, his familiar following him from behind. Another girl walked in....

ReplyDeleteSeeing that all his students were here, Professor Corwyth started the class.
ReplyDelete"First, I want to introduce a new student, Haruyuki Akayashi. She is in Eagletalon house."
The small class clapped. Then Professor Corwyth continued.
"Okay guys, today we're gonna learn about the Wiggenwelf Potion. It is a potion that wakes a person from a sleep that is caused by magic. There are a lot of ingredients needed, but I have gather all of them for you today. We are going to make it." Professor Corwyth looked at his class, then continued. "Instructions are in your textbooks on page 54. We will see who makes the best example, and they will get a vial of hair-raising potion. Now, begin!"
Leon opened his textbook and got out his cauldron. Kirino stared, unable to help.
ReplyDeleteHaruyiki also opened her textbook, getting out her cauldron. She stared at Kirino for a while, then went to read the textbook.
Pollux shoved his cauldron onto the table. Then flipped to page 54 in his notebook. He started brewing the potion according to the instructions, and the potion went from a dark purple to a frightening red, then finally a bright green. He mixed it a bit more and went on to follow the final steps.
ReplyDeleteLeon stirred his potion. It had turned a shade of emerald green, but somehow he didn't think it was right. Kirino had taken to circling around him.
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki looked at her potion, which was a leaf green. She raised her hand. "Professor, I think I'm done."
Professor Corwyth, hearing Haruyuki's call, walked up to her to see her potion. It was a sparkling emerald green. "Good!" He gave Haruyuki a thumbs up and walked over to Pollux, who also seemed to be done.
ReplyDeletePollux looked at Professor Corwyth, who was walking over. He looked at his potion, then the textbook. He had followed the instructions to the letter, measuring the ingredients to the smallest increments. Professor Corwyth smiled. "That's good!" he also gave Pollux a thumbs up and walked back to his desk to read his book while Leon finished up his potion.
Leon stared at his emerald green potion. He raised his hand. "Professor, somehow I don't think that this potion is right," he squeaked.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth stared at the potion, then gave it a little whiff. "Hm... I think you need just a little bit more slime, but other than that, its fine."
ReplyDeleteSeeing that all of his students were done, He went to the front of the classroom to announce the winner. "So the winner is..." He could see the students tense. "Haruyuki! Congratulations, you get a vial of hair-raising potion. Pollux and Leon, your potions were great as well. Tonights homework is to research Wiggenheld Potion and write a piece about what you found. Class is dissmissed."
Pollux cleaned up, grabbed all his things and trudged out of the classroom.
Leon cleaned up as well and lept up to follow Pollux out of the classroom. Kirino floated behind him.
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki stared at the potion as she headed out. "What do I use this for?" she murmured under her breath.
Leon seizured into the room. Haruyuki walked behind him, looking at him strangely.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth got ready for another class. He drank some firewhisky and spazzed. Then he saw Pollux walk into the room, holding a butterbeer.
ReplyDeletePollux skipped into the room, and took out his books from his pockets.
Seeing all of his students were here, Professor Corwyth started the class.
"Good day class, today we are learning how to make Purple fire potion. First, let me check your homework from last class.
Leon stared blankly at the blackboard, while Haruyuki raised her hand. "Sir, we did not have any homework yesterday."
ReplyDeleteKirino stared at Haruyuki. "Yes you did, you idiot."
ReplyDeletePollux fumbled around in his pocket and reached for the parchment that he did his homework on. "Here, Prof. Corwyth...."
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth stepped up to Pollux. "Hm... I'll take that." He took the paper and put it in a pile of papers on his desk.
Leon gave Professor Corwyth his homework. Haruyuki stared dumbly at the floor.
ReplyDeleteProf. Corwyth took the homework from Leon's space then walked over to Haruyuki.
ReplyDelete"Where's your homework?"
Haruyuki looked up, and gave Prof. Corwyth her homework.
ReplyDeleteProf. Corwyth took it from her hands and placed the papers on his desk. Then he turned around to address the class. "Ok, so now we are going to make the Purple Fire Potion. Instructions are on page 63. Ingredients are in the cabinet. Ok, let's begin!"
ReplyDeletePollux rushed to the ingredient cabinet and opened it. Immediately a crowd of smells rushed into his nose and he spazzed. Then he gathered all the ingredients he needed and put them on his space. Then he took out the cauldron from underneath and started following the instructions.
Leon did the same, shaking as if in an earthquake. Haruyuki did as well, though more sanely.

ReplyDeleteLeon stirred his potion, which had turned violet. He put in some more blechmilk.
Haruyuki looked at her perfect velvet purple potion and sighed in comfort at the wonderful color.
Prof. Corwyth watched his class happily. Then he secretly took out a bottle of firewhisky and drank it. Then he spazzed.
ReplyDeletePollux was in the final stages of his potion. It was a murky purple, and was a bit gooey. He wasn't sure about it. He added more blechmilk and octopus powder. Then he stirred once more and it became a more liquid velvet purple.
Leon's potion had turned a velvet potion as well. He raised his hand. "Professor, I think I'm done!"
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki cursed herself for staring at the pretty color for so long.
Pollux looked up as well. "I'm done too."
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth walked up to the two students' cauldrons and nodded in approval. He saw that Haruyuki was done as well and gave her a grade on his sheet of paper. Then he walked back to the front of the classroom.
"I'm really happy with today's results. You guys did really well, so tonight there is no homework."
Pollux silently cheered and walked out of the classroom, heading for the common room.
Leon followed, leaving Haruyuki alone in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteIt took Professor Corwyth a while to realize Haruyuki was still in the classroom. "What's the matter?"
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki did not say anything. Professor Corwyth returned to his office.
ReplyDeleteAkinara walked into class.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth looked up from his desk in surprise.
ReplyDelete"You're 30 minutes early. Do you need something?"
Akinara shrugged. "Not really, it's just that I've finished my homework and I have nothing to do in my free time. I can help you or something if you need it."
ReplyDelete"Oh. It's ok, you can get a book to read. I don't need any help."
ReplyDeleteAnd so they read.
Akinara nodded, and took out her book on "Animal Testing" and began to read.
ReplyDeleteLeon and Haruyuki stumbled into the room, chatting. Leon spazzed and sat down, wishing he had some dirigible plum jelly.

ReplyDeletePollux waddled into the room, holding a butterbeer. He chugged it down and burped. Professor Corwyth smiled, then took a sip of firewhisky and spazzed. Then he started class.
"Today we are going to learn how to make an antidote for all kinds of common poisons. This can be useful if you have been bitten by something poisonous or stung. Instructions are on page 73 of your textbook. The ingredients are prepared for you already. Let's begin!"
And so the students begun.
Pollux fumbled around his space and gathered the materials. Then he followed the instructions and mixed together the moondew with the puffapod spores. Then he scooped some flobberworm mucus and dumped it in. The potion turned pink. Then he continued.
Leon and Haruyuki went up ant got the ingredients. Leon was slightly irritated on how Corwyth had copied his spazzing. They quickly got everything and began to stir their cauldrons.

ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth stared at Akinara, who was staring blankly out the window. He decided to ignore and returned to reading his papers.
Pollux took a handful of Puffapod spores and spilled them into the cauldron. The potion turned brown, then dark green. Then he started chopping his Bezoars. He accidentally chopped the tip of his finger off but it was back on with a wave of Professor Corwyth's wand. Then Pollux continued and took the stewed Mandrake and dropped it in the cauldron in disgust.
Akinara took out her pot, and already knowing how to do this, took out the necessary ingredients. She put in a handful of Puffapod seeds, and then three tablespoons of jewelweed poultice. With her ladle, she stirred it three times clockwise, then seven times counterclockwise, then repeated the process three times more. It turned golden, then lime. Then, Akinara began shredding her bubotuber flesh, and dumped it in. She scooped out a tablespoon of flobberworm mucus, and put it in as well. She then threw in seven scarab beetles, and the potion turned a shimmering green.
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki and Leon's potions had both turned an emerald green. They stared at it, mesmerized.

Pollux looked at his green potion.
ReplyDeleteProf. Corwyth saw that his students were done and went to see their potions.
"Mmm..."
"Oooh, that's good!"
"Great job!"
"Uh... that's fine."
Professor Corwyth then went on to assign homework.
"For tommorow's Boil-cure potion, I need you to get the following materials:"
He then walked up to the board and wrote the ingredients down.
'- 2 ice pops ( of any flavor)
- a red spider
- a bundle of flowers (12-20)'
"Class dismissed."
Pollux gathered his things and stuffed them in his pocket. Then he walked out of the classroom, thinking of getting a butterbeer.
Leon quickly wrote down the ingredients and left. Haruyuki did the same.
ReplyDelete"Wait, Professor!" Akinara called out, running after him. "Does it have to be any type of red spider or flowers?"
ReplyDelete"It doesn't matter which kind of red spider, but for flowers, preferably rose. Is there anything more you need?"
ReplyDeleteAkinara shook her head. "No, thank you, Professor. I'll be going now." She ran off with Haruyuki. "Hey, wait up!" She called to her friend.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth smiled as he watched his student run off. He then walked back to his office.
ReplyDeleteShiina walked into the room with Bryn. Devin was already sitting there, next to Damien. Shiina ignored them and took her usual seat at the back.
ReplyDeleteGwen walked in as well, and she glared at everyone before sitting down.

And so they began.
Shiina flipped open her book and began to read. She walked up tot he cabin and got the necessary ingredients. Devin snorted and did the same.

ReplyDeleteGwen swiftly made the potion with beozars, dirigible plums, flobberworms, and the other necessary potion ingredients.
ReplyDeleteBryn opened her textbook and followed its instructions to make the potion, and Damien did the same.
Shiina's potion had turned a sky blue. Devin's had turned a dark, ugly green. He frowned at it unhappily.
ReplyDeleteGwen's potion turned a beautiful sapphire blue. Bryn's had turned into a periwinkle blue, and Damien's was an azure blue. Bryn rechecked her instructions in case she did something wrong.
ReplyDeleteDevin stirred his potion half-heartedly. Shiina gazed down at her potion and added some more ingredients to turn it into a dark royal blue. She looked up after a while, satisfied.
ReplyDeleteBryn found the mistake she did, and then added a bit of asphalt powder and gillyweed skin, making it a nice indigo. Damien's became a royal blue as well, and Gwen's potion was already a cobalt blue. She was looking at the board, looking bored.

Devin stared into his potion and grunted in frustration. He began to bang his head on his cauldron.
ReplyDeleteBryn looked around in surprise, and Damien quickly removed the cauldron from his friend, making sure that he wouldn't hurt himself any further.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked at Damien for a while. Devin stared at Bryn like a frog.
ReplyDeleteBryn looked at Devin, and raised an eyebrow. "Yes?" She asked, mockingly. Damien looked at Shiina and grinned, before turning back and slapping Devin out of his trance.
ReplyDeleteDevin blinked and looked up at Damien. "Huh." He said stupidly. Shiina turned a little pink and looked away.
ReplyDeleteDamien jerked his head towards Bryn who was still giving Devin a look.
ReplyDeleteDevin quickly looked away and laughed arrogantly.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth watched his students interestingly.
ReplyDeleteBryn looked at him strangely, then returned to her work. Damien also looked at his friendly strangely.
ReplyDeleteShiina stared intensely into her cauldron, wondering what the feeling she was feeling was. (O.O) Devin suddenly became solemn and looked out the windows and narrowed his eyes. (LIKE A MODEL)

ReplyDeleteDamien found himself staring at Shiina, gazing at the way she moved and the way she talked, not that she did so much.
Bryn ignored everything and read the textbook instructions again.
Shiina looked sideways at Bryn, wondering what she was thinking. Then she proceeded to stare at her cauldron. Devin started to think about change. (O.O puberty?????)

ReplyDeleteDamien was still caught in a trance, staring at Shiina.

Devin opened his book and sighed into it, wanting to bang his head on it. Shiina turned her red gaze over to Damien.
ReplyDeleteDamien snapped out of his gaze and delibrately looked away, embarrassed, a slight flush on his cheeks. He buried his thoughts into his Potions textbook.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked at him more, confused. She quickly turned back, finished up her potion and looked up at Professor Corwyth. Devin growled and gave up on the potion.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corwyth stood up and went over to grade the two students' potions.
ReplyDeleteShiina watched him grade. Devin looked down in slight shame.

Bryn raised an eyebrow, but let him continue grading.

Shiina stood up, her mind wandering, and left. Devin packed up his things and left.
