This is where students and teachers come for treatments. There are many beds along the walls, and many cabinets to store medicines and potions in. Don't drink any! (THERE IS NO CURRENT NURSE)
After Care of Magical Creatures, Shiina walked into the infirmary, and began to rummage through the cabinets. She finally found what she wanted, and left.
Bryn and Shiina levitated an unconcious Yamamoto through the doors. Bryn uncovered one of the beds and got Yamamoto onto it. She pulled the covers over him. "Do you think we need to do anything else?" She asked Shiina.
Bryn nodded. "I came in here the other day, I think I saw a potion for more major wounds." She walked over to a medicine cabinet on the far left corner. She rummaged in it for a little while. At last she pulled out a bottle of a transparent liquid with a tinge of turquoise, labeled as: MAJOR WOUNDS - INFECTIONS, SWELLING, AND INFLAMMATIONS. Bryn dripped a few drops on Yamamato's injury, and it sizzled at the touch. Smoke rose from the wound. When it cleared away, the skin was new and young, but still tender.
Shiina sat on a stool next to the bed. "So what now?" she said. "I don't remember what happened but....." Next to her, Yamamoto rolled over. "Baka...." he muttered in his sleep. Shiina stared down at him. "What did you say?"
Bryn bristled."Is he calling Farwill baka?" She said indigantly. She resisted the urge to punch his injured stomach. "Come on, Shiina, Knapp wants us in her office," she muttered to her friend.
Yamamoto, slightly embarrassed at her enthusiasm, looked down and realized that his shirt was unbuttoned. He quickly did all of the buttons up, then leaned back in his bed.
Yamamoto, looking slightly confused, narrowed his eyes for a moment, but then seemed to focus. He waved his hand at Farwill. "No worries, professor," he said, slightly staring into space.
Yamamoto smiled and thought about soup for a while. Then he whipped out some onigiri. "Care to join me, professor?" he asked with a slight smile on his face.
Yamamoto's face turned serious. He grabbed Farwill's hand for a second. "Selena," he said, calling her by her first name for the first time."If anything is bothering you, tell me," he said gravely. "I-" he was silent, because he really didn't know what to say. "I-," he said after a while. Then he lowered his voice. "I can help."
Farwill tried to pull her hand away, but his grip was too strong. "What do you want?" She asked a little fiercely. What was wrong with him? Couldn't he see that trying to help her would get him into danger? Couldn't he see that interfering with the prophecy meant that he would probably die?
Farwill chose her words carefully, making sure not to give anything away. "Yamamoto, you have to understand that interfering with my business is... dangerous."
Yamamoto's eyes were slits. Finally he gathered up enough courage. He pulled her closer to him, her chin resting on his shoulder. "I don't care," he whispered into her ear delicately. "I will help you."
Farwill almost relaxed into his arms, until she realized that they were just colleagues, not anything else. With considerable effort, she forced herself to pull away then look down, face blood-red. "Um... I... uh..." She stuttered.
Yamamoto cursed himself. "AUUUUGHHHHH!!!!" he screamed after Farwill left. "WHY DID I SAY THAT????? I SWEAR ON VOLDEMORT'S LOST NOSE THAT I WOULD HAVE NEVER SAID THAT IF I WAS SANE!!!!!!!!" he frantically got up and stated to bang his head on the wall.
Farwill thought she heard a weird banging noise, but shrugged it off and continued to walk off.
Mapps, whose office was actually pretty close to the Infirmary, was troubled by the sound and decided to investigate. He quickly grabbed his wand and rushed out the door. When he got there, he did not see what he expected. "Uh, professor? What are you doing?" Mapps was extremely confused.
Mapps narrowed his eyes in thought, then his face lit up with amusement. "It's Farwill, isn't it? I saw her walking away just now." Judging by his colleague's reaction, he began laughing loudly, bending over.
Yamamoto was slightly confused. "I-I'm not quite sure, professor," he said. "I don't really remember what happened. All I know is that something happened to make her mad."
Mapps looked at him. "You should have seen how she fretted and worried over you when you got attacked,' he told Yamamato. "She was freaking out over dinner."
Mapps stood up. "Well, I'll be going now. It was good to see you, Kazuki," he nodded at his colleague, then walked out. When he reached the door, he turned and smirked at Yamamato. "Don't annoy her next time, man. She can get pretty fierce."
Yamamoto looked away, then sighed as soon as Mapps left. Then he got up. He stepped onto the floor, slipping his feet into his shoes next to the bed. Since he hadn't walked in several days, he immediately fell down. "Aw cauldron bum," he muttered, but got up and started towards the door. Today, he would be free.
Bryn followed her, looking around, when Damien rushed into the room. "Shiina! Shiina! Oh, hi, Bryn. Shiina, I have a cure for you!" He skidded to a stop, and held out the bottle that Krumiage gave him.
Damien looked at her. "I'm serious. I went to Krumiage and asked him if he knew, and he recommended a potion. I got it and after investigating its contents I came to you." Bryn's eyes pricked at Krumiage. It was a little surprising, but she supposed it was logical because he was the Herbologist. However, something about the event seemed a little off... and Krumiage gave her a bad feeling. She shook it off. Not like she'd know anything about herbs. Damien seemed to be telling the truth, or at least think he was telling the truth. Maybe they should trust him.
From the shadows, Gwen watched the exchange. She felt Bryn's suspicion, and Shiina's doubt. She felt Damien's earnesty. For a second, she felt a pang of guilt at what Krumiage was making Damien do. He was almost forcing the poor guy to kill the girl he liked. And she was there, making it went the way it was supposed to. Gwen narrowed her eyes and steeled herself. No, she musn't change her mind now. And Shiina was just another Dracoslyther- slimy, sneaky, unworthy people. Might as well get rid of her, right?
Shiina, still unconvinced, gently took the vial from Damien's hands and studied it, narrowing her eyes at the strange color. Then she looked at him. "And you're SURE that ok....?"
Damien nodded truthfully. "I'm sure. I asked Krumiage again, and he said it was fine, then I performed an inspection of its contents and it was safe. It's fine." Gwen watched them, almost leaning forward as Shiina raised the vial to her lips. Suddenly, an image flashed through her brain. Poisoned people. Then she remembered. Her parents were poisoned. They didn't die of a car accident. They were poisoned. For some reason, she remembered it, suddenly. And she knew that the poison that Shiina was going to drink was the exact poison. Tears almost sprang to her eyes but she held them back. Her fists clenched, because she instantly knew that if she couldn't save her parents she would at least save Shiina from this deadly poison, a mix of Mandrake root, botulinum, Rattlebug intestines, and anthrax. It was masked with black magic so no-one would detect it, including Damien. Shiina would die a painful death. She charged forward, snatching the poison from the girl's hands, some of it spilling to the floor. She held it, trembling, her eyes wide as she saw everyone staring at her.
Shiina's eyes widened for a second, but then they snapped up to look at the blue-haired girl. "So..." she started. "Is it bad?" Her black aura slightly outlined her, and she narrowed her eyes and scenes flashed through her mind.
"Ye-- no, I mean. It's fine, I--" Gwen froze as she heard footsteps from outside. Krumiage! She should have drank it by now. He was coming to check her body and ruin the memories of Bryn and Damien. She would be killed if he caught her. If she fought him, the others would kill her. Either way, she would die. So why not just drink this? Her heart pounded, blood rushing through her head. Gwen took a deep breath, and looked Shiina in the eyes. This would be the last time she saw her house head. "Remember me, okay? And tell Sirius that I loved him. And tell Ada Barrett... I'm sorry. In fact, tell everyone I'm sorry. Don't let Krumiage destroy this memory, Bryn. Use your power." She closed her eyes, raised the vial to her lips, and downed it in a gulp. Just then, the "footsteps", which were actually Farwill's, came into the room. Farwill's eyes widened. This was it? She didn't expect it to be so soon. This was the time that... "Don't drink it, Gwen!" She cried, reaching out. But it was too late. Gwen fell to the floor, screaming and writhing in pain.
Shiina's eyes widened and she crouched down next to her fellow house-mate, grabbing the collar of her, um, robe, and glaring at her. "What did you do that for?" she demanded loudly, but held the smaller girl in sort of a hug while she flailed, not caring if the other girl's hands or feet hit her.
Damien just stared. "Gwen?" He whispered softly, in shock. Gwen shrieked in agony, her head feeling like it was going to explode. Bryn was waving her wand around desperately trying to stop the poison, but it had already affected her system. Gwen whimpered, her screams fading away as her black eyes stared up at Shiina. "Sorry for... hating... you..." she drifted off and slumped to the floor, her onyx eyes glazed over and her body limp. Farwill fell to the floor, sobbing. "I couldn't stop it... I couldn't stop it..." she was saying over and over again to herself.
Shiina glared at Farwill for a moment and then turned back to the form of Gwen in her arms. "...." She wasn't really sure of what to say, though she had a strange, sad feeling in her heart, just like when she had looked down at the broken from of her sister. Shiina simply held Gwen to her and stared into space, her red eyes showing no emotion what so ever.
Bryn looked away from Gwen's blank eyes, her eyes narrowed in anger. "Where's Krumiage?" She hissed to Damien. "Where is he?" He looked up, startled at the sound of her voice. "I... don't know. Probably in his office." Bryn stood up, and marched towards the door. "Shiina. Professor. You coming?" Farwill looked up, and shook her head, like she saw herself do. "No. I will take care of Gwen's... body." A tear rolled down the emotional professor's face. Bryn nodded curtly, then glanced at Shiina, her eyes hard. "Are we gonna blow this *******'s face off or what?"
Shiina, Bryn, Damien, Devin and Taki all filed into the room. Shiina put the floating Damien onto a bed and set Taki on one as well. "You need food," she remarked as she sat down on her brother's bed. "What did she do to you?"
"I... mother tortured me and enslaved me," Taki said as Damien drifted in and out of consciousness. Bryn was looking for medicines for the three in the cabinets.
Shiina nodded. "That's understandable. But don't think about it now. How do you feel? Does anything hurt?" :D She had never lost her sisterly love for her brother. HA.
Taki took a huge bite and chewed it slowly. He swallowed and smiled. "That's good. Give some to Devin and Damien too. Especially Damien. He'll get jealous." He gave his sister a wink and went back to eating his ongiri. If Damien had heard he would flush tomato red but he was currently unconscious.
Shiina punched his face slightly and then turned to the two other boys. "Here," she said, handing Devin one of the rice balls as well. He took it, and she looked down at Damien. "Wake up...." she muttered.
A couple minutes passed and Damien's eyes fluttered open. "Now he's conscious," Taki said from beside them, grinning at the boy, his cheeks redder and fuller now. Damien rolled his eyes and stared at the ongiri in Shiina's hands. "Where'd you get that?"
"That's not possi--" Damien's face was stuffed with ongiri and he frantically swallowed before he choked. He gave Shiina a mock glare while Taki laughed at the two. (not in a mean way)
Damien snorted. "That's a great reason," he said sarcastically. "It doesn't matter. How are you? What have you been doing with Bryn when we were gone?" Bryn looked up from her feeding and taking care of Taki, then went back to her business.
"Well, we can blame that on the prophecy, can't we?" Damien snorted. "Lyreade's supposed to be a safe haven for 'wizards and witches to learn and explore their horizons of education'", he stated, quoting Knapp's words.
"Not life," Damien responded with a grin. "It's called 'sitting under a rock for eternity'." Bryn felt a gaze on her and instantly knew it was Devin because of the feeling behind that gaze. She gritted her teeth. She couldn't get distracted like Shiina by Devin. She'd care too much, and not pay attention to the truth. Bryn couldn't afford a single mistake when it came to the prophecy. She tried her best to ignore it as she conversed with Taki.
Shiina looked away. "Are you still hungry?" she asked, more to the other two boys than Damien. Devin shook his head, still staring at Bryn, wondering what it would take to actually capture her heart.... :D
(lol. "well, you could start with not being a retard and be less arrogant" XD jkjk)
Taki looked up. "No, I'm not. I don't want to eat too much or I'll throw up," he told her. "I need to ease back into a regular eating habit." Bryn nodded, looking up, avoiding Devin's gaze. "He's smart, see. He should be in Eagletalon." She pointed at Taki as she spoke.
Shiina's eyes kindly looked up on her brother, and she leaned forwards to pat his head. "That's my brother," she said fondly. "Smart as and Eagletalon, but not as sinister as his sister."
"Yeah, he should come to my house," Damien told Bryn and Shiina. "I'd be glad to have him with us. And nobody'd ever hurt him or I'll castrate them. Seriously." He paused, then continued. "I'll write a recommendation to Knapp. Maybe we could get Farwill to recommend it as well as Mapps." Taki looked confused. "What? Eagletalon? Houses? What do you mean?" Bryn glanced down at him. "Well, you have nowhere to go, do you? So you'll be going to this school now, if Shiina lets you. She's pretty much your legal guardian, even if she one year younger than an adult. She'll explain the houses to you." Taki looked expectantly at Shiina.
Shiina sighed. "If he goes to this school, he won't need to go to your house," she reasoned, then faced her brother. "So, basically, in this school, there are four houses. Students are sorted into houses based on their personality. There's Wyvernlor, which Bryn and Devin are in, Eagletalon, which Damien's in, Dracoslyther, which is my house, and Penniluff. Basically, Wyvernlor are the brave ones, Eagletalon are the smart ones, Dracoslyther are the evil/darkish ones, and Penniluff are the laid back ones."
"However, you don't have to go to the same house as Shiina, because houses aren't determined by blood but personality. There are many siblings who are in different houses," Bryn added, and Taki nodded. "Can you choose your own house?" "No. Well, kind of. Your opinions are considered but they don't necessarily make the final decision," Damien replied this time from the bed beside Taki, a large, bulky bandage on his arm.
Taki still looked confused. "Stay? Stay where? Dracoslyther? Besides, Damien said you can't choose. I'm going to go see Knapp after this." Bryn nodded. "That's good. I'll take you there. Your house will probably be decided in three days after you get there."
Taki rolled his eyes. "I'm fine," he told his sister. "Just hungry and tired. Not injured or anything. So I'll go to Knapp now, with Bryn." Bryn smiled. "Yup. Just as commanding as his sister. Come on," she stood up and Taki jumped off the bed. The two trotted (LOL) out of the classroom and Damien stared weirdly at them.
Shiina sighed and sat down on Damien's bed. Devin stood up awkwardly. "Well, I'll go get the homework from our teachers," he said, and raced out of the room.
Damien scooted over to the side and rolled, pulling Shiina with him so that they were lying side by side, Damien's arms around her waist. He reveled in the feel of her in his arms, the beautiful face staring at him again after... what, one and a half weeks?
Damien put his head above hers , tucking her into his chest with his injured arm draped over her waist. "I love you," he whispered to her. It was the first time he'd said that to anybody, and he was sure that Shiina was the only person he would ever say it to.
Shiina tucked in her arms closer to each other and looked up at him. "Me too," she said, her look so full of gentleness that she wasn't even sure that she was herself anymore. (.)
Damien kissed her softly, his arms pulling her tighter against him before he let go and pulled away, looking a bit regretful. He got out of bed, nearly falling but standing upright again. "We need to get some food," he told her, giving her his uninjured arm.
Damien reached out and grabbed her wrist. "No, I'm going with you," he told her firmly, pulling her to him and walking forward stiffly. "I'm not gonna leave you any more." He opened the infirmary door and went out with Shiina in his arms.
"I'll be fine," Damien grunted, limping slightly as he made his way to the hall. He finally let her go and grasped the edge of a table hard, took a couple of deep breaths, then got a tray to get food.
After Care of Magical Creatures, Shiina walked into the infirmary, and began to rummage through the cabinets. She finally found what she wanted, and left.
ReplyDeleteBryn and Shiina levitated an unconcious Yamamoto through the doors. Bryn uncovered one of the beds and got Yamamoto onto it. She pulled the covers over him. "Do you think we need to do anything else?" She asked Shiina.
ReplyDeleteShiina stared out of a window. "We should tend to his wound. I think it opened up a little."
ReplyDeleteBryn nodded.
ReplyDeleteBryn dripped a few drops on Yamamato's injury, and it sizzled at the touch.
ReplyDeleteBryn leaned in to listen. "I think he said 'baka'. That's 'idiot' in Japanese, right? Why would he be saying that?"
ReplyDeleteYamamoto snored softly. "Baka.....Farwill....." Shiina suddenly had a strong urge to hit him on the head.
ReplyDeleteBryn bristled."Is he calling Farwill baka?" She said indigantly. She resisted the urge to punch his injured stomach. "Come on, Shiina, Knapp wants us in her office," she muttered to her friend.
ReplyDeleteShiina shivered, but followed Bryn to Knapp's office.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto woke up. He looked around, slightly confused.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto, still confused, closed his eyes and went back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteFarwill stood over Yamamato's bedside, looking down at his sleeping face.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto slept on, unaware of Farwill's presence.
ReplyDeleteFarwill sighed. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I should never have let this happen... I should have come faster..."
ReplyDeleteYamamoto's eyes suddenly popped open. "Did you say something, professor?"
ReplyDeleteFarwill tried to cover her words up. "No, nothing, professor." She paused. "How are you doing?"
ReplyDeleteYamamoto sat up, the blankets falling off. His shirt was unbuttoned. "Good," he said. "Probably gonna leave here tomorrow."
ReplyDeleteFarwill stared at his shirt. "Aren't you cold?" She blurted out after a while, lamely. "Uh, I mean, that's great!" She put on an optimistic face.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto, slightly embarrassed at her enthusiasm, looked down and realized that his shirt was unbuttoned. He quickly did all of the buttons up, then leaned back in his bed.
ReplyDeleteFarwill returned to her original state. "Sorry about the other day in the corridor," she told Yamamoto.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto, looking slightly confused, narrowed his eyes for a moment, but then seemed to focus. He waved his hand at Farwill. "No worries, professor," he said, slightly staring into space.
ReplyDeleteFarwill sighed. "Have you eaten anything? Do you need lunch?" She asked, remembering her intrusion of his office for dinner with slight amusement.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto waved his hand once more. "Once again, no worries," he said dully. "Shiina brought some miso this morning."
ReplyDeleteFarwill nodded, her eyes narrowing slightly at the mention of her fellow seer. "That's good," she said vaguely.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto smiled and thought about soup for a while. Then he whipped out some onigiri. "Care to join me, professor?" he asked with a slight smile on his face.
ReplyDeleteFarwill looked down at him, then smiled softly. "Yeah, okay?" She said, and conjured a chair to sit beside him.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto handed her an onigiri and opened one for himself. He happily took a bite out of it, savoring the flavor of the rice, salt and seaweed.
ReplyDeleteFarwill bit into one, enjoying the savoury flavor of it. "It's good," she grinned at Yamamoto.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto smiled slightly. Then he sighed. "Shiina's onigiri....are the BEST," he admitted.
ReplyDeleteFarwill nodded. "Apparently so," she said again, looking at nothing.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto looked at her for a while, feeling slightly weary. "Is everything allright, professor?" he asked.
ReplyDeleteFarwill snapped back into reality. "Oh, yes, perfectly fine, Kazuki," she smiled at him, but seemed a little distracted.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto thought for a while, but didn't say anything, not wanting to bother Farwill.
ReplyDeleteFarwill finished eating her ongiri in silence. Then she looked over at Yamamato. "Thanks for the ongiri," she grinned.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto grinned back, but it was a half-hearted grin.
ReplyDeleteFarwill noticed it. "What's wrong?"
ReplyDeleteYamamoto's face turned serious.
ReplyDeleteFarwill froze at his touch, then shook her head sadly, not meeting his gaze. "You... you don't understand," she whispered.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto nodded his head slowly, narrowing his eyes. "I see," he said softly. There was an awkward pause.
ReplyDeleteFarwill tried to pull her hand away, but his grip was too strong. "What do you want?" She asked a little fiercely. What was wrong with him? Couldn't he see that trying to help her would get him into danger? Couldn't he see that interfering with the prophecy meant that he would probably die?
ReplyDeleteYamamoto gritted his teeth, not sure what to say. He himself did not know why he had said what he said. He remained silent, glaring at the ground.
ReplyDeleteFarwill chose her words carefully, making sure not to give anything away. "Yamamoto, you have to understand that interfering with my business is... dangerous."
ReplyDeleteYamamoto's eyes were slits. Finally he gathered up enough courage. He pulled her closer to him, her chin resting on his shoulder. "I don't care," he whispered into her ear delicately. "I will help you."

(LOOOOOOOOOOOL)
ReplyDeleteFarwill almost relaxed into his arms, until she realized that they were just colleagues, not anything else. With considerable effort, she forced herself to pull away then look down, face blood-red. "Um... I... uh..." She stuttered.
Yamamoto smiled. "Go now," he said narrowing his eyes in a strange, friendly way. Then they curved upwards in a smile. "Go," he said once more.
ReplyDeleteFarwill steeled herself. "You don't tell me what to do, Yamamato," she hissed, then stalked off.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto cursed himself.

Yamamoto looked up. "Er.....I was banging my head on the wall?"
ReplyDelete"And why is that?" Mapps raised one eyebrow.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto was silent, his forehead and face slowly turning red.
ReplyDeleteMapps narrowed his eyes in thought, then his face lit up with amusement. "It's Farwill, isn't it? I saw her walking away just now." Judging by his colleague's reaction, he began laughing loudly, bending over.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto's face was pure red, and was turning even redder at Mapps' laughing.
ReplyDeleteMapps finally stopped himself, and sat down in Farwill's seat. "Tell me."
ReplyDeleteYamamoto was slightly confused. "I-I'm not quite sure, professor," he said. "I don't really remember what happened. All I know is that something happened to make her mad."
ReplyDeleteMapps grinned. "You like her, huh?" He teased him.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto turned red once more. "Shut up," he said.
ReplyDeleteMapps' smile grew wider. "Oh, you do," he smirked.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto went red once more. "So what?" he finally asked. "Almost every teacher here does, and you know it."
ReplyDeleteMapps' face fell. "Yeah, and you're the only one who actually has a chance," he muttered.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto looked away. "Maybe not....." he murmured.
ReplyDeleteMapps looked at him. "You should have seen how she fretted and worried over you when you got attacked,' he told Yamamato. "She was freaking out over dinner."
ReplyDeleteYamamoto looked down, unable to argue with Mapps anymore.
ReplyDeleteMapps stared at him. He sighed.
ReplyDeleteYamamoto looked out of the window, wanting to disappear.
ReplyDeleteMapps stood up. "Well, I'll be going now. It was good to see you, Kazuki," he nodded at his colleague, then walked out. When he reached the door, he turned and smirked at Yamamato. "Don't annoy her next time, man. She can get pretty fierce."

ReplyDeleteDamien just stared.

(whatsoever is a single word)
ReplyDeleteBryn looked away from Gwen's blank eyes, her eyes narrowed in anger. "Where's Krumiage?" She hissed to Damien. "Where is he?"
He looked up, startled at the sound of her voice. "I...
(Meh)
ReplyDeleteShiina nodded and stood up, gently placing Gwen on a bed. "Let's go."
Bryn promptly grabbed Shiina's wrist and marched them both out of the infirmary, a scowl on her face.
ReplyDeleteShiina, Bryn, Damien, Devin and Taki all filed into the room. Shiina put the floating Damien onto a bed and set Taki on one as well. "You need food," she remarked as she sat down on her brother's bed. "What did she do to you?"
ReplyDelete(oh, nvm that previous comment)
ReplyDelete"I... mother tortured me and enslaved me," Taki said as Damien drifted in and out of consciousness. Bryn was looking for medicines for the three in the cabinets.
Shiina nodded. "That's understandable. But don't think about it now. How do you feel? Does anything hurt?" :D She had never lost her sisterly love for her brother. HA.
ReplyDeleteTaki shrugged. "I'm okay. My body's already adjusted, I think." He gave Shiina a playful grin. "I'm hungry, though."
ReplyDelete(how old is he?)
Shiina nodded and passed him some onigiri. "Eat slowly," she instructed.
ReplyDeleteTaki took a huge bite and chewed it slowly. He swallowed and smiled. "That's good. Give some to Devin and Damien too. Especially Damien. He'll get jealous." He gave his sister a wink and went back to eating his ongiri. If Damien had heard he would flush tomato red but he was currently unconscious.
ReplyDeleteShiina punched his face slightly and then turned to the two other boys. "Here," she said, handing Devin one of the rice balls as well. He took it, and she looked down at Damien. "Wake up...." she muttered.
ReplyDeleteA couple minutes passed and Damien's eyes fluttered open. "Now he's conscious," Taki said from beside them, grinning at the boy, his cheeks redder and fuller now. Damien rolled his eyes and stared at the ongiri in Shiina's hands. "Where'd you get that?"
ReplyDeleteShiina rolled her eyes. "Nowhere," she said, shoving it into his face. "Just eat it."
ReplyDeleteDevin ate.
ReplyDelete"That's not possi--" Damien's face was stuffed with ongiri and he frantically swallowed before he choked. He gave Shiina a mock glare while Taki laughed at the two. (not in a mean way)
ReplyDelete(HA.)
ReplyDeleteShiina looked at him. "What? Aren't you hungry?" she asked, slapping his back lightly.
"I am, but that didn't mean you had to try and suffocate me with rice and seaweed," Damien protested, looking up at her with dark blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked down at him. "It's not my fault your mouth is too small," she said, as if that explained it all.
ReplyDeleteDamien snorted. "That's a great reason," he said sarcastically. "It doesn't matter. How are you? What have you been doing with Bryn when we were gone?"
ReplyDeleteBryn looked up from her feeding and taking care of Taki, then went back to her business.
Shiina shrugged. "Classes. Homework. Going to Colema," she said. "The usual."
ReplyDeleteDamien nodded. "Good. You were safe?"
ReplyDelete"Of course she was! She was with me!" Bryn called, and continued with Taki.
ReplyDelete(100 comments! WOOTZ)
ReplyDeleteShiina shrugged. "No one's every fully safe," she remarked. "Even now, we aren't completely in safe hands..."
(haha)
ReplyDelete"Well, we can blame that on the prophecy, can't we?" Damien snorted. "Lyreade's supposed to be a safe haven for 'wizards and witches to learn and explore their horizons of education'", he stated, quoting Knapp's words.
Shiina shrugged. "What's life without adventure?" she asked.
ReplyDeleteDevin ate and looked at Bryn, watching her gentle face, slightly mesmerized.
"Not life," Damien responded with a grin. "It's called 'sitting under a rock for eternity'."
ReplyDeleteBryn felt a gaze on her and instantly knew it was Devin because of the feeling behind that gaze.
ReplyDelete(lol. "well, you could start with not being a retard and be less arrogant" XD jkjk)
ReplyDeleteTaki looked up.
ReplyDelete(uhhhhhhh)
(LOL)
ReplyDelete"Yeah, he should come to my house," Damien told Bryn and Shiina. "I'd be glad to have him with us. And nobody'd ever hurt him or I'll castrate them. Seriously." He paused, then continued. "I'll write a recommendation to Knapp. Maybe we could get Farwill to recommend it as well as Mapps."
Taki looked confused. "What? Eagletalon? Houses? What do you mean?"
Bryn glanced down at him. "Well, you have nowhere to go, do you? So you'll be going to this school now, if Shiina lets you. She's pretty much your legal guardian, even if she one year younger than an adult. She'll explain the houses to you."
Taki looked expectantly at Shiina.
ReplyDelete(Bad grammar :P)
"However, you don't have to go to the same house as Shiina, because houses aren't determined by blood but personality. There are many siblings who are in different houses," Bryn added, and Taki nodded. "Can you choose your own house?"
ReplyDelete"No. Well, kind of. Your opinions are considered but they don't necessarily make the final decision," Damien replied this time from the bed beside Taki, a large, bulky bandage on his arm.
Shiina nodded. "That's basically it," she said. "So, do you want to stay here or go to Damien's house? It's your choice."
ReplyDeleteTaki still looked confused. "Stay? Stay where? Dracoslyther? Besides, Damien said you can't choose. I'm going to go see Knapp after this."
ReplyDeleteBryn nodded. "That's good. I'll take you there. Your house will probably be decided in three days after you get there."
Shiina nodded. "Just rest for now," she said. "We'll take care of the rest."
ReplyDeleteTaki rolled his eyes. "I'm fine," he told his sister. "Just hungry and tired. Not injured or anything. So I'll go to Knapp now, with Bryn."
ReplyDeleteBryn smiled.
ReplyDeleteDamien looked up at Shiina. "Well. I guess it's just us again, huh?" He smiled at her softly and extended his arms out to pull her to him.
ReplyDelete"You're right," Shiina replied, trying not to lean on him too much.
ReplyDelete(:D i did that on purpose, u noe?)
(m)
ReplyDeleteDamien scooted over to the side and rolled, pulling Shiina with him so that they were lying side by side, Damien's arms around her waist. He reveled in the feel of her in his arms, the beautiful face staring at him again after... what, one and a half weeks?
Shiina stared back at him. "I-I missed you a lot," she said at last. "You took so long, I-I almost thought you weren't coming back...."
ReplyDeleteDamien smiled, and gave her a little kiss. "I told you I would, didn't I? I promised you. I don't break promises."
ReplyDeleteShiina nodded. "I know that now," she said, gently inching her head closer to his.
ReplyDeleteDamien put his head above hers , tucking her into his chest with his injured arm draped over her waist. "I love you," he whispered to her. It was the first time he'd said that to anybody, and he was sure that Shiina was the only person he would ever say it to.
ReplyDeleteShiina tucked in her arms closer to each other and looked up at him. "Me too," she said, her look so full of gentleness that she wasn't even sure that she was herself anymore. (.)
ReplyDelete(lol)
ReplyDeleteDamien kissed her softly, his arms pulling her tighter against him before he let go and pulled away, looking a bit regretful. He got out of bed, nearly falling but standing upright again. "We need to get some food," he told her, giving her his uninjured arm.
Shiina nodded slowly. "I'll go get something," she said softly, standing up. "You stay here."
ReplyDeleteDamien reached out and grabbed her wrist. "No, I'm going with you," he told her firmly, pulling her to him and walking forward stiffly. "I'm not gonna leave you any more." He opened the infirmary door and went out with Shiina in his arms.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked behind at the boy. "Don't push yourself too hard," she said. "If you get tired you can lean on me. The great hall's pretty far away."
ReplyDelete"I'll be fine," Damien grunted, limping slightly as he made his way to the hall. He finally let her go and grasped the edge of a table hard, took a couple of deep breaths, then got a tray to get food.
