Library

The library is huge, with walls and walls and shelves and shelves of books. There are three floors, and the Restricted Section is at the top floor. There are study tables at one side of the 1st floor for people working. The Librarian's desk is also on the 1st floor. (NO LIBRARIAN YET)

  1. Bryn and Shiina were in the restricted section. "Right. Meanings of symbols... circles... restoration spells... arithmancy... ancient runes... ancient cities..." Bryn was talking to herself as she pulled out books from random places. She came back to one of the three little tables where Shiina was sitting at and put about seven heavy books onto the table. They fell with a hefty 'thud', and dust flew into the air. She began gave three books to Shiina. "Runes, symbols, and arithmancy. Look into that." With those words, Bryn began poring over her four books.

  2. Shiina scanned through the books, a little tired. "Oh well," she thought. She saw Haruyuki come in through the corner of her eye, just as she spotted the mysterious eye symbol. "Bryn, I think I found something. And who is that girl?"

    ReplyDelete
  3. "Her?" Bryn looked around at the black-haired girl. "Oh, that's Haruyuki Akayashi, the new Eagletalon second year. I saw Damien with her this morning." Bryn paid no more attention to the girl and looked over at the symbol. She read the description. "That's Horus' eye, the one he was said to have lost during his battle with Seht, his uncle. It means wisdom, power, or seers." Bryn looked up. "Does it mean it has something to do with a seer?"

    ReplyDelete
  4. Shiina looked. "I'm not sure. True, that eye could mean that, but it could also mean other things. Do you think we should consult Farwill later?"

    ReplyDelete
  5. Bryn nodded. "Good idea." She showed Shiina a page of her book. "It says here that a circle of circles, like the one in the cavern, was used for extremely powerful rites and/or pacts. It is very rarely used nowadays, because its affects are extremely binding, and could cause death if you went against it. I think maybe the people that made the cavern or chamber were performing a pact. A promise of sorts."

    ReplyDelete
  6. Shiina looked more closely at the book. "That is probably a big hint," she said. "And look what I found here. Alpha is basically the letter a, right? And sometimes it was used to represent animagi."

    ReplyDelete
  7. (Can the whirlwind actually be Raido, the rune for travelling to represent the evil professor dude?)

"I know that Raido means travelling, so it probably has something to do with that. Broomsticks or apparating, probably." Bryn nodded. "What was that line in the center of it. It's like a L, or a stick, or a piece of string or a wand."

    ReplyDelete
  8. Haruyuki looked up at the two. "That's strange," she thought. "I thought that those two were supposed to be enemies." She studied Bryn. "She's pretty," her head decided. "But I wouldn't want to go near her. Haruyuki looked at Shiina. "She's not that cruel looking," Haruyuki thought. "But she looks kind of sad. Hey, she looks kind of like me! I wonder if I'll look like her when I grow up...."

    ReplyDelete
  9. Bryn looked around, feeling a gaze on her. She saw Haruyuki staring at them, and she whispered to Shiina, "Akayashi's staring."

    ReplyDelete
  10. Shiina was silent. "You know," she whispered back. "That Akayashi looks a lot like me when I was a child."

    ReplyDelete
  11. Bryn looked at Shiina weirdly. "That's weird. Now that I think about it, besides for the glowing eyes, she's almost exactly like you," she whispered. "Anyway." Bryn looked at Shiina. "We need to pay attention to the... whatever this is. The cavern and symbols, I mean."

    ReplyDelete
  12. Shiina looked up. "Right, e have found everything except for the 'l' in the middle. Do you think it's a wand? I think we should go talk to Farwill when we're done."

    ReplyDelete
  13. Bryn nodded. "Yes, that's reasonable. I think there's a lot of things about Farwill that we don't know. Did you notice how she hurried out of class and stayed out for an hour, then came back in looking frazzled?" She narrowed her eyes, thinking. "There's something about her that's suspicious. I'm sure of it."

    ReplyDelete
  14. Shiina thought for a moment. "Do you think I should try to see her future? Might give us clues....."

    ReplyDelete
  15. Bryn shook her head. "Don't try it. Save those seer powers for more important things. It'll just waste your energy." She suddenly looked at her watch. She swore colorfully, then exclaimed, "We're 30 minutes over curfew! If somebody catches us, we're doomed!" She looked at Shiina. "We need more information. You borrow those books, and I'll borrow these. Tomorrow meet me outside the Wyvernlor Common Room- I'll trust you with the secret. It's on the 8th floor, there's a little wyvern carved into the wall at the top of the fake doors that lead into a broom cabinet. I can't tell you the password, but just wait there, okay? Be there at our free time between Potions and dinner."

    ReplyDelete
  16. Shiina turned away with the books and went to borrowing them, then heading out of the library. On the way out she bumped into Haruyuki. "S-sorry!" Haruyuki squeaked. Shiina looked down at Haruyuki. She knelt down. "Go back to your dorm, ok? It's already 30 minutes past the curfew." Shiina patted Haruyuki's head and was gone. Haruyuki looked dazed. "Huh?" She said out loud.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bryn walked up to Haruyuki. "She told you to go back to your dorm. It's half an hour past curfew, Akayashi. Yes, I know who you are," she added, a little irritated, at Haruyuki's surprised face. "Haruyuki Akayashi, right?"

    ReplyDelete
  18. Haruyuki stared at Bryn for a while. "Why-why did she pat me? I had a feeling that she was a cold person..." Haruyuki drifted off, slightly embarrassed.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Bryn smiled slightly. Her voice had been cold and calculating, but she softened a little. "Don't assume things just by looking at and hearing about them. Like I did," Bryn added quietly, more to herself than to Haruyuki.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Haruyuki heard Bryn whisper something else, but decided not to ask about it. "Oh," she said. "I'd better head back to my dorm now, good-bye!"

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bryn nodded. "Goodbye." She walked to her own dorm as well.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bryn dragged Shiina to the library, and to the study table. She dropped her books on the table, and sat down. With no words, she flipped open the page she had marked and began taking notes. There was a ten minute silence, then:
"What do you think it means? The prophecy, I mean. Do you know what's going to happen?" Bryn glanced at her friend.

    (She doesn't, right?)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Shiina stared into space for a moment, her eyes going gray. "There is too much Mist surrounding it. I can't see."

    ReplyDelete
  24. Bryn nodded. "Right. But what do you think it means? An ancient pact- that has to do with the circle of circles. Of revenge- that's about the word "Ultionem" in the center of the circle of circles. What do you think?"

    ReplyDelete
  25. Shiina looked down. "Someone wants revenge, obviously, but we probably will need to find out why. And we are probably the ones who need to stop this from happening."

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bryn made a face. "But why us? Why can't it be someone else?" She growled. "I can't bother with both the prophecy and my stalker parents."

    ReplyDelete
  27. Shiina was silent, thinking of her own parents.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Bryn sighed. "Oh well. Let's review the prophecy again-
    An ancient pact,
    A deadly act.
    The fall of the city
    Is by revenge,
    Not pity.
    For blood will be spilled
If blood is not killed." She finished, and looked at Shiina. "A bit confusing, especially the blood parts. What city fell? Why?"

    ReplyDelete
  29. Shiina thought. "Blood - usually in prophecies that means blood relations. But I'm not sure about the city part......"

    ReplyDelete
  30. "Relatives, perhaps, then? Like brothers, sisters, parents..." Bryn drifted off, eyes wide. "Shiina..." She said slowly. "What are your parents like?"

    ReplyDelete
  31. "Hm......My mother is a seer like me, and my father is an animagus. But they both are dark wizards....." her voice trailed off and her eyes were shadowed with worry.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Bryn smiled. "I knew it!" She exclaimed. "The alpha, your father. The eye, your mother. The rest must be my parents... but who is the last person?" She asked, confused.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Shiina looked off into the distance, distracted.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "I don't know anything about my parents," Bryn said, a strange expression in her eyes. It was a bit like... wistfulness and sadness.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Shiina was somber. "Taki," she said, looking guilty.

    ReplyDelete
  36. "What?" Bryn looked at Shiina, a little confused. "What did you say?"

    ReplyDelete
  37. Shiina looked up at Bryn. "My brother. If we keep on with this, they might kill him....if he died....then I'd never get over it."

    ReplyDelete
  38. Bryn was silent for a moment. "We have to keep going. We have to. But we'll try to save your brother, Shiina. First, though, we need to find out what my parents do and who the fifth person is."

    ReplyDelete
  39. Shiina thought for a moment. "Your father had an interesting aura," she said. "He probably has an interesting place in this world." She thought for a moment. "You know, perhaps your mother is like you, a spell caster. Do you think that's what the stick is?"

    ReplyDelete
  40. Bryn nodded. "Probably. My father's either a traveller, one who can go anywhere at will with no restrictions, or an alchemist."

    ReplyDelete
  41. "Hm...." Shiina thought. "But who is the fifth person?"

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bryn shook her head. "I don't know. We'll have to find out."

    ReplyDelete
  43. Professor Krumiage walked into the library, looked both ways (lol hes crossing a street), and walked over to the restricted section.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Bryn heard someone go into restricted section, and she sneaked a quick look over her shoulder. "Hey Shiina," She whispered. "Isn't that Professor Krumiage, the deputy Headmaster and the teacher of Herbology?"

    ReplyDelete
  45. Shiina looked up. "You're right, he is. But what is he doing here?"

    ReplyDelete
  46. Bryn shrugged. "No idea. Probably looking something up for his class. But why would he be here?"
Just then, Krumiage spotted the two in the corner. He visibly tensed, then relaxed.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Shiina looked over at him. "So, how do we find out who the fifth person is?"

    ReplyDelete
  48. Bryn looked at Shiina. "I suppose we'll just have to keep an eye out," she suggested. Krumiage walked up to them. "Hello ladies, what are you working on?"
Bryn, startled, slammed her books and Shiina's books shut. "Just... er... homework. For Ancient Runes class."

    ReplyDelete
  49. Shiina looked up at him. "Very interesting, runes," she said.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Krumiage raised a perfect eyebrow. "The Ancient Runes teacher has not arrived yet."
"We wanted to do some extra work. To, you know, be prepared for anything." Bryn's expression was one of innocence and truth.

(You can be kr. after this comment.)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Shiina was silent. After a while, she said, "We wanted to start learning some before the teacher arrived, just so that we would be prepared for the class."

Krumiage narrowed his eyes. "I see," he said, and stalked off.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Bryn looked at Shiina. "That was weird," she said. "Teachers don't really probe us like that."

    ReplyDelete
  53. Shiina was thinking. "Do you think he knows anything?" she wondered out loud.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bryn narrowed her eyes. "Probably not, but you never know," she said, her voice ominous.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Shiina looked up at the clock. "It's dinner time," she said. "We should go."

    ReplyDelete
  56. Bryn nodded, and stood up, putting her books back in her bag. "I wonder what's for dinner," she commented as she waited for Shiina. "I hope it's mashed potatoes with stuffed turkey and liver. With cherry soda, of course," she added with a grin.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Shiina stood up as well, but did not say anything. "Well, should we meet tomorrow?" she asked as they walked out of the library.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Bryn agreed. "Yeah, sure. Same place, same time?"

    ReplyDelete
  59. Bryn followed her into the Great Hall.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Shiina walked into the library the next day, right after herbology.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Bryn suddenly ran in, panting. "Shiina! You have to come with me, Yamamoto's being attacked!"

    ReplyDelete
  62. Shiina's eyes widened and she quickly ran after Bryn.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Shiina stormed into the library, her eyes still slightly black. She sat down.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Bryn looked up from where she was sitting. "Hey, what happened?" She asked, her eyes narrowed.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Shiina glared at the air. "Stupid Farwill," she muttered, to mad to say anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Bryn raised an eyebrow, then something hit her. "It's Yamamoto, I'd bet," she grinned at Shiina.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Shiina looked sideways at Bryn. "You think?" her eyes started to turn red once again.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Bryn laughed. "Haven't you seen the way Yamamoto stares at her? It's like she's a dessert or something." Suddenly she narrowed her eyes. "But if he did something to hurt her..." her voice turned venomous.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Shiina rolled her eyes. "Yeah right," she said. "It goes against his Japanese manners to do that."

    ReplyDelete
  70. Bryn snorted. "And since when has the human population obeyed cultural rules?"

    ReplyDelete
  71. Shiina looked at Bryn. "Don't you know HOW old he acts?"

    ReplyDelete
  72. Bryn smiled. "Yes. But that doesn't mean he can't hurt her feelings. I didn't mean hurt her physically - he cares for her too much to do that. But he probably doesn't know that he reacted badly or did something that made Farwill unhappy." She frowned again. "By the way, how was she when you went into her office?"

    ReplyDelete
  73. Shiina sighed. She thought for a moment. "Errrr....blood...shot...eyes?"

    ReplyDelete
  74. Bryn widened her eyes. "Do you mean she was crying?"

    ReplyDelete
  75. Shiina looked at Bryn. "Do you think I know? I suck at reading emotions."

    ReplyDelete
  76. Bryn rolled her eyes. "If she had red eyes and was covering her face with something she had to be crying."

    ReplyDelete
  77. Bryn sighed. "I'm not going to go to her if she's in a state. I had a question about... you know..." she gave Shiina a look.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Shiina looked at Bryn blankly, oblivious to her expression.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Bryn rolled her eyes. "Whatever, we have Potions now," she stood up and waited for her friend to go to Potions together.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Shiina stalked into the library, walking up to a shelf and picking a random book. She sat down in a seiza position on the floor in front of a chair and began to read it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. "Yeah, I'd love to borrow that one! It's my second-favorite, after Pride and Prejudice. And I've only read The Hobbit. But I've seen all of the Lord of the Rings movies!" Ada exclaimed with a laugh as they entered the library. Then she inhaled deeply, enjoying the scent of old books, stepping away from Damien to turn in a circle, her arms flung out wide. It was the biggest library she had ever been in, bigger even than the one at Schwarzstein. "Oh, it's glorious!" she said with a delighted smile. When she looked back at Damien, her eyes were alight with excitement. "Books, Damien. That's my passion. They're a look into the mind and soul of a writer. Have you ever thought about them that way?" She paused. "Not many people do."

    ReplyDelete
  82. Shiina glanced up as the two walked in but kept quiet, not saying a word, and not betraying any emotion on her face.

    ReplyDelete
  83. "Spoken like a true Eagletalon," he told her, smiling. "I feel the same way... you'll find the rest of our house and Gwen feel that way as well." Damien lead her to the Muggle Books section and pointed to it. "There's the Muggle Books. Not big, only thirty-six books. The rest of the library has two floors, and the top floor is the restricted section." He paused, narrowing his eyes at her. "Don't get any ideas." He proceeded to make his way to the Historical Fiction section.

    ReplyDelete
  84. "No guarantees," Ada called back with a grin before turning to the books. "Not much here. They really need to expand their book selection. I mean, just because they're Muggles doesn't mean they're not literary geniuses. Like Poe, and the brothers Grimm. And James Patterson." There was a short pause, and then she added, "I think I want to be a writer, or an investigative journalist. We'll see what happens."

    ReplyDelete
  85. Damien nodded, coming back over with two books in his hands. "I suppose so. Hey, after this, I have a couple Sherlock Holmes books under my bed. You wanna borrow them?" He grabbed a book from the top of the shelf and gave it to her. "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. It's a great Muggle book, you should read it. If you like it, I'll buy you the second book for Christmas," he grinned.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Shiina narrowed her eyes as she heard the words being uttered from Damien's mouth. Without a warning, she closed her book silently, strode over to put it back on the shelf, and turned to leave, cursing human feelings in her mind as she moved.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Damien heard the familiar clicking of shoes and he turned, mildly curious. His eyes widened slightly at the sight of Shiina- did she hear what he said? He didn't mean for it to sound so... you know, he didn't mean it that way, but others might interpret it differently. He did like Ada, very much, but it was an affectionate feeling akin to what one would feel for a little sister. Nothing more.

    ReplyDelete
  88. (Pfah, little sister. She's only a year younger!! Lol)

Ada grinned at the prospect of receiving a new book. People always gave her things she didn't want, like socks and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans-- which she didn't even like! "I'm always open to reading something new. And I'll lend you... Damien?" She leaned around the slightly taller sixth-year when she realized that his attention was elsewhere. "What are you looking at?"

    ReplyDelete
  89. (Still. She's younger. :D)

Damien's head whipped back to face her at the sound of his name. "Wha...? Oh, you were talking about reading new books. Yeah, I love that too." He still sounded a little in his own thoughts. "I wasn't looking at anything." Damien held the book out for her, avoiding her hazel eyes.

(Oh yeah, I'm not admin for the Art of Escape)

    ReplyDelete
  90. (Yeah, I know. :D)

Ada took the book, narrowing her eyes at Damien but not saying a word. She knew they had just met, but she didn't like secrets. Unless they were dangerous--and then nobody ought to know-- but this one didn't seem so dangerous to her. Just annoying.
"Mmhmm. Fine. Whatever. As I was saying, I'll lend you my copy of Maximum Ride, if you want."

(I just sent you an invite. I think Akire forgot when she added you...)

    ReplyDelete
  91. (Okay. Haha)

Damien raised an eyebrow. "Maximum Ride, huh? I read that already. But do you have 'Wizard and Witch'? It's also by James Patterson." He smiled at her again, hiding his own troubles. "When you finish 'The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie', tell me if you like it, okay?"

    (It's a real book. And it's really good. :D)

    ReplyDelete
  92. "That'd be Witch and Wizard," Ada corrected, still keeping her eyes narrowed at Damien, despite his easy smile. "And yes, I have it. I also have the second book. And yes, I will tell you if I like it." After a few seconds of silence, she raised an eyebrow. "So what were you looking at? Just because I'm a mere fifteen years old doesn't mean I'm stupid, Damien Kumataka. It just means I'm nosy and oh, so stubborn. And this particular fifteen-year-old has an aversion to secrets." She paused briefly with a small smile, then added, "Plus, I have trust issues. Secrets definitely do not gain trust. Talk, Kumataka. I told you several of my secrets, didn't I? Your turn."

(Yeah, I looked it up... Sounds intriguing! :D)

    ReplyDelete
  93. (It's awesome! I read it until 2 am :D Haha)

Damien nodded. "You did," he agreed. He sighed. "Very well." He looked over his shoulder at the place where Shiina disappeared and turned back to Ada. "Shiina. She's been watching us. And I think she's been taking our time together wrongly. I'm almost sure she thinks we, you know, LIKE each other. Like like each other. Don't get me wrong, I like you, you're awesome, but not in that way. I don't know why she's ignoring me or glaring at us, I just don't like people thinking the wrong things about me. I don't want rumors around school- if you've been here long enough, you'll know that news passes around faster than I can say I'm an Eagletalon."

    ReplyDelete
  94. (I've done that before... with the Hunger Games!! Awesome series!)

Ada blinked in surprise. "Ah. Oh. Um... I see." She felt herself begin to blush and shifted her gaze to the floor. "Wow. I...hm."
She began to laugh a little and looked back up at Damien. "Nothing like this has ever happened to me. Nobody ever gets the wrong idea about quiet little Ada Barrett. And before you decide to ask, no, I don't like you in that way, either."
Another laugh escaped her. "How are we going to squash the rumors, then? I may be a criminal mastermind, but when it comes to this sort of stuff... well, I'm a little useless."

    ReplyDelete
  95. (Haha I love good books)

Damien shook his head. "I could tell. Well, Shiina isn't the type of person to really tell anyone anything, except Bryn from Wyvernlor, who can keep a secret. Unless Akinara somehow finds out, because she's the gossip queen of the school, and then she'll tell Haruyuki, and the rest of the 2nd years. And Devin will find out, and because Gwen's smart she'll find out too. The teachers will be looking out for gossip so they'll hear about it too. Basically, we need to keep Akinara from finding out. And we need to find out why Shiina hates it when we hang out, so we can properly stop Akinara from finding out."

    ReplyDelete
  96. (Me too.)

Ada was silent for a few moments while she thought about it, and then her hazel eyes met Damien's grey ones steadily. "Did you consider the fact that maybe she's jealous? Maybe she has a thing for you." She shrugged with an impish grin. "I'd certainly be jealous of me," she told him, striking a little pose. "I mean, look at me."
    ~Ada

    ReplyDelete
  97. Damien grinned at her antics. "Of course. Beautiful, stunning, teasing Ada Barrett is the center of every man's attention," he laughed, playing along. "Nobody can resist your good looks." He said dramtically, gesturing with his hands at Ada. Then what she had said really hit him. "Wait... what?"

    ReplyDelete
  98. The blonde rolled her eyes at him. "Honestly, don't you ever listen? Maybe Shiina has a thing for you," she repeated slowly and precisely. "I'd've thought it was obvious. Of course, I may be wrong. But more often than not, I'm right."

    ReplyDelete
  99. Damien frowned and furrowed his brow, deep in thought. Why would Shiina feel that way? He thought she hated him. He liked her, sure, but he wasn't sure why and in what way. Shiina always got annoyed at him and even told him to go ahead and die... why would she ever be jealous of Ada? "But... she hates me!" He told Ada, confused. "She told me to go ahead and die at the Death Lake!"

    ReplyDelete
  100. Ada dropped her face into her hands with a long-suffering sigh. "Gah! Men. Honestly, you've lived this long with us females, and you still don't realize that often, when a girl says something hateful, she's often covering her true feelings." She looked back up at Damien. "Again, maybe Shiina is the exception; maybe she really does hate you. But observe her over the next few days. Maybe she really does have a crush on you. You never know."

    ReplyDelete
  101. Damien shot her a look. "You're being sexist." But a moment later he sighed. "I still don't believe she likes me, but I'll observe her. You don't know Shiina, though. She knows when she's being watched. Trust me, it'll be hard if we're going to try to stalk her or something."

    ReplyDelete
  102. "Pfah. I do not stalk people, Damien. That's just creepy," Ada said, pulling a face. "Just glance at her sometimes, at meals, in the hallways, during class. See if she's been looking. Trust me. I'm an expert at stuff like this. Remember? I was the invisible girl at Hogwarts, Schwartzstein, and Beauxbatons. I can blend in." After a slight pause to adjust her skirt, the fifth-year added, "Therefore, I shall help you. And it won't be creepy, because Invisible Chick is most definitely not a stalker. Verstehen?"

    ReplyDelete
  103. Damien gave her another look. "You aren't the invisible girl at Lyreade, Ada. Everyone knows who you are. Especially after you and Gwen got annoyed at each other and you stormed out. People stare at you because you stand out. It might be different for you, but it's true, because we Lyreades know what goes around in our school." He stared at her with hard eyes. "Nobody does things around here without being found out. And I can't get anymore bad reputation. After Gwen--" He looked away, his throat closing up. People thought he had killed Gwen and tried to kill Shiina when really... it was Krumiage.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Ada's hazel eyes widened. "Hold up. What happened with Gwen? I haven't talked to anyone for a few days, 'cause a bunch of 'em looked depressed, and I really didn't want to handle depressed. Plus, I've skipped meals. What happened with Gwen?" she repeated slowly, hoping something she had said hadn't affected Gwen negatively. That was the last thing she needed: another bad thing on her conscience.
Realizing suddenly that Damien looked really sad, she gripped his forearm and squeezed. "Hey, are you okay? Are you fine with explaining this to the out-of-the-loop fifthie?" She hesitated, then added, "You know you can tell me anything, all right? I may now stand out like a sore thumb, but I promise that I can keep a secret. I'm not much one for gossip most times anyway."

    ReplyDelete
  105. Damien gave her a small but sad smile. "You don't have to worry about the gossip, it's already gossip." He sighed, then took a deep breath. "Look. Have you heard about the prophecy?" Without waiting for an answer he pushed forward. "It's beginning. Gwen sacrificed herself, because... someone wanted to kill Shiina, who's probably in the prophecy. She needed some... er, medicine, and I couldn't find any that would help her so I asked Krumiage because I thought he would know more about healing herbs. He gave me this strange glowing purple potion, and I was suspicious so I tested it four times. The results didn't show anything unusual. I ran over to the Infirmary and gave it to Shiina, but right before she drank it Gwen leaped out of the shadows. I think she must have been hiding there before Shiina and Bryn arrived. Gwen came out and snatched the vial from Shiina and drank it. Five seconds later, she was on the ground writhing and screaming in pain. A minute later, she...." Damien looked away from Ada, hiding the tears welling in her eyes. Suddenly, he whipped back around, his eyes full with fresh tears but hot and angry. "And do you know what she said before she died? She said: 'Tell Ada I'm sorry.'"

  106. Ada's eyes widened, and she stared at Damien until she seemed to be staring through him. She didn't know what she was supposed to say. She hadn't really liked Gwen, but first impressions-- and that was all she had, a first impression-- were rarely correct. Guilt rose up inside of her. She hadn't even had a chance to tell Gwen that she was sorry for the things she said.
"Damien, I-- I'm--" Stumbling over her words, she finally found some that might fix what she had done. "I'm sorry, Damien. I'm sorry that I didn't try harder to like Gwen, and I'm sorry that I didn't know, and I'm sorry I keep making you angry, and, dang it, I'm just sorry!"
She didn't even wait for an answer. With those words, Ada turned and ran until she found a girl's lavatory, hoping that Damien wouldn't follow her.
Then she sank to the floor and began to cry like she hadn't cried in years, until all she could feel was cold and exhaustion.

    ReplyDelete
  107. (imagine damien running into the girl's lavatory.... :O)

Damien sat by himself, wrapping his arms around his knees, and pressed his eyelids shut against the tears, willing them not to spill out. Bryn had sprinted towards the library when she heard a weird sniffling and wailing sound. She stopped short and turned back to Shiina. "Go ahead to the library," she told her friend. "Talk to Damien, I'll come by later. I'll check out whatever's happening in the bathroom." Bryn, without waiting for an answer, made her way into the lavatory.

    ReplyDelete
  108. (Hehe.)

Shiina looked around the library and saw Damien on a chair. She silently strode over to him and stood behind it. "......" She normally wasn't good with feelings, so she was unsure of what to do. She narrowed her eyes for a second, then widened them and wrapped her arms around him from behind. (Getting SPICY~!)

    ReplyDelete
  109. Damien jumped and immediately leapt a meter away from her and pointed his wand at his "attacker". "Get off me, you-- Shiina? What are you doing in the library? I thought you were... you know, confronting Krumiage." He lowered his wand, confusion in his eyes. Damien quickly wiped his tears away in embarrassment before glaring at her again.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Shiina stared at Damien, reminding herself of an owl. (....) Her red eyes betrayed nothing, as did her face. She remained silent.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Damien was beginning to get annoyed. "Look, I know you're here for a reason, not just because you felt like randomly trying to assault me. So just tell me what you're here for, okay?" He glared at her.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Shiina, unsure of what to say, took out her wand, keeping her hands behind the chair back so that he could not see them. She didn't really want to take his memories away, but she would feel strange if Bryn did it. Obliviate, she thought, her mind wavering.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Damien continued glaring at her, but his eyes had a bit of confusion in them. "You're ignoring me. Tell me what you want!"

(he just forgot why gwen died, which is the goal)

    ReplyDelete
  114. (Hm....should something happen about their relationship? If there is, look at the next scene:)

Shiina quickly swept away, passing by him as she left. "I want you," she muttered as she went by, and disappeared.

    (Or this one:)

Shiina kept on looking at Damien, then fell to the floor, making fake sobs, but not actually crying. "Gwen died," she said in a tearful voice.

    ReplyDelete
  115. (it's easier for me to do the second one)

Damien's face changed from anger and confusion to concern. He knelt next to her and put an arm around her shoulders. "I know, I know. Are you okay? She's not suffering anymore, you know," he told her softly, smiling at her weakly. "I'm sad too. She shouldn't have died."

    ReplyDelete
  116. (Good. :D)

Shiina looked up at Damien with sad, red eyes (they're always red :/). "I was never that nice to her," she admitted in a cracking voice (puberty). "But now that she's dead I-" Shiina closed her eyes and leaned into Damien.

    ReplyDelete
  117. (haha)

Damien bit back a "You were never that nice to anybody" and awkwardly patted her head. "Er... I'm sure she knows you're sorry for it," he told her. He felt a sudden urge to pull her closer but decided against it.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Shiina sat their for a while, thinking. She was sure that he had lost his memories, but something about him was a little sketchy....

    ReplyDelete
  119. Damien looked down at Shiina. "Are you okay? Hey, I thought you were just crying!" He sounded suspicious.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Shiina looked up at him, her eyes still slightly sad. "I-I'm fine now," she said quietly. "G-Gwens probably h-happy where she is right now."

    (Bryn coming back anytime soon?)

    ReplyDelete
  121. (I need to wait for DG to comment)

Damien nodded, still suspicious. "Shiina... you don't have tear tracks in your eyes."

    ReplyDelete
  122. (They can be in two places at a time, but OK)

Shiina looked at him. "Who said I was crying?" she said. "I wouldn't cry in front of you. Haven't you heard of 'dry tears'?"

(Dry tears: Crying with only sound.)

    (I guess......)

    ReplyDelete
  123. Damien gave her a look. "You mean whimpering. Dry tears are basically whimpering." He raised an eyebrow. "I'm not fooled. I'm not in Eagletalon for nothing."

    ReplyDelete
  124. Shiina remained emotionless, not saying a word. (kinda staring into space, you know?)

    ReplyDelete
  125. Damien sighed and pulled her closer to him, leaning back into the leg of the table. "Why do you do that so much? Stop talking and ignore me, I mean. Is it a Dracoslyther thing?"

    ReplyDelete
  126. No, it's my thing, Shiina wanted to say, but kept quiet. She suddenly wondered if Taki was like that as well.

    ReplyDelete
  127. "Gwen kind of did that too..." he mused, looking thoughtful. He glanced back at her. "Hey, have you heard of your brother yet? My mother called to tell me they were still looking for my sister. Personally, I don't think they're ever going to find her."

    ReplyDelete
  128. Shiina looked at him. "He may not even be alive. You don't know Kasumi, she could have killed him herself. My father doesn't kill kin. But if they both wanted him to die, she would kill him. Or find me. Like I did with my sister."

    ReplyDelete
  129. "Kasumi? Oh, your mother. Hey, where have I heard that name before?" Damien narrowed his eyes in thought, not sure why in the world he would have heard the name of Shiina's mother. Did it have something to do with Dakota?

    (dakota's his sister)

    ReplyDelete
  130. "I don't know!" Shiina said, glaring at the thought of her sister.

    ReplyDelete
  131. "Of course you don't. You haven't met your mother in ages," Damien responded matter-of-factly. "I'm just wondering whether Dakota had something to do with your parents. They were wizard assassins, right?"

    ReplyDelete
  132. Shiina nodded slowly, her eyebrows dipping deeper.

(and then it turns out that SHIINA killed dakota. eeeeeeeeeeeeeep)

    ReplyDelete
  133. (lol)

"Could they have... killed my... brother? Drake?" Damien forced the tremble out of his voice. "His body showed no sign of physical damage. It had to be magical."

    ReplyDelete
  134. Shiina narrowed her eyes and looked at the ground. "They could have," she said. "But for all I know, I could have as well."

    (QWERTY)

    ReplyDelete
  135. "But I know you didn't. Because my brother was killed after you fled." Damien replied smoothly. "Besides, you ran away, meaning you didn't support your parents' decisions."

    ReplyDelete
  136. Shiina narrowed her eyes. "But I had to follow them. I left when they did the worst. If they hadn't made me do what I did, I probably wouldn't have left."

    ReplyDelete
  137. "Either way, I know you didn't kill Drake. I don't know why, but I just know." He looked into her scarlet eyes that suddenly seemed alluring. "You might not know it or like it, but I trust you." Damien gave her a little smile.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Shiina looked at the boy with her sharp, red eyes. "But you shouldn't," she said softly. "No one should."

    ReplyDelete
  139. "That's not stopping me," Damien grinned at her, his smile wider now. "I would trust you with my life not because you are trustworthy but because I know you'd try your hardest to achieve what's right."

    ReplyDelete
  140. Shiina looked at him, her eyes suddenly emotionless. "......"

    ReplyDelete
  141. Damien kept on staring at her. "Shiina..... why do you do that?"

    ReplyDelete
  142. Shiina looked at him with a strange look in her eyes. "You already asked that," she said. "And I have no intent on answering."

    ReplyDelete
  143. "No, not ignore me. Just... you close off all your emotions from everyone else. Is it that you're ashamed of them? You don't have to be. I used to be ashamed of my emotions, until I realized it was stupid wasting my time on it, and gave up. People understand, especially the people at this school, Shiina. You don't have to pretend they don't." Damien finished, still keeping his intense blue gaze on her sharp red ones.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Shiina narrowed her eyes and dropped her gaze, looking wistfully at the floor. (....) "When I arrived at this school," she said quietly. "I was surprised at how nice the people were. So I thought, it must be a trick. I can't trust these people, now matter how the act. So I've been like this." She looked up at Damien with pleading eyes. "I can't change," she said, her voice wavering. "I-"

    ReplyDelete
  145. Damien put her hand over her mouth. "Okay. Okay, I won't push you. But you have to try. I'm not saying that you have to scream out whether you're happy or sad or whatever you're feeling whenever you feel something different, just be aware that you don't have to close yourself off. And you can trust me with anything . I promise that. If you need something, I'll be right with you. Do you understand?" Damien was so focused on her face and her reaction that he didn't realize that he was almost pressed up against her, their bodies uncomfortably close to one another.

    (OOOOOO lol)

    ReplyDelete
  146. Shiina looked up at Damien, looking into his confident face, then leaned into him, suddenly realizing how comforted she felt when she was with him.

    (^/////^)

    ReplyDelete
  147. (? what was that sign?)

Damien, trying to keep back a gentle smile but failing, let go of her mouth and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Do you trust me, Shiina?" He asked her softly.

    ReplyDelete
  148. (a blushing dude.)

Shiina narrowed her eyes. "Maybe," she said, then looked straight into his eyes. "But maybe not."

    ReplyDelete
  149. (oh.....)

"Well, you're gonna have to," he grinned at her, and leaned closer, until their lips almost...

    (ADLFDSGOIELKFDCXGRQEEGDSKJRhtRWRHWRY)

    ReplyDelete
  150. (Ok, so, sorry I haven't been on... I'm technically grounded... until Sunday...)

Ada looked up sharply when she heard footsteps in the lavatory, tears still making wet tracks down her face. Before she could scramble away, Bryn appeared around the corner.
"Come to tease me, have you?" the fifth-year asked irritably. Then the irritation in her eyes faded, and she leaned her head back against the wall, feeling utterly defeated. "I wouldn't blame you if you did. So far, I haven't really been very nice, have I?"

(I just want to take this moment to say that I totally called it.)

    ReplyDelete
  151. (:O)

Shiina scrunched up her eyes, turning a slight pink as his face approached hers, wondering if she should move or not.

    ReplyDelete
  152. (called...?)

Bryn stared down at the girl. "What're you crying for?" She asked, genuinely confused because she hadn't found a good enough reason to cry for since she was five. "There's nothing to cry about. Besides, I can't make fun of you if you don't tell me why." She said it honestly, her amber eyes narrowing.

Damien put his mouth over hers.
    (...)

    ReplyDelete
  153. Shiina closed her eyes and leaned upwards, feeling embarrassed.

    ReplyDelete
  154. (... i does that mean damien topples over or something?)

    ReplyDelete
  155. (Just lean a little bit more backwards i think)

    ReplyDelete
  156. (Oh, okay)

Damien, after a little while broke away and looked at her sheepishly, an embarrassed scarlet flush seeping into his pale cheeks. "Sorry, I-- I didn't know what got into me."

    ReplyDelete
  157. Shiina looked away, a slightly bored expression on her face. "Doesn't matter," she said. Of course, she would have already seen that scene coming. (:D)

    ReplyDelete
  158. Damien gave her a weird look. "You knew that was coming, didn't you?"

    ReplyDelete
  159. Shiina looked at him "No duh," she said, a tiny fragment of her mind wishing that the moment had lasted longer. (;))

    ReplyDelete
  160. Damien kept on staring at her, then a sly smirk grew on his face. "Well, you didn't stop it then, did you? You liked it, didn't you?"

    ReplyDelete
  161. Shiina lowered her eyebrows at his slight change in attitude. "You don't need to know," she said slowly. "Maybe. Or maybe I just didn't feel like stopping you."

    ReplyDelete
  162. Damien still smirked. "Really. Would you feel like it if I did it again?"

    ReplyDelete
  163. Shiina closed her eyes. "Who knows? Perhaps I would, but then again I might not."

    ReplyDelete
  164. Damien grinned at her. "Did you see me kissing you again, then?" He asked her, because he himself wasn't exactly sure if she would let him do it again.

    ReplyDelete
  165. "Possibly," replied the young seer, unsure if she should go along with his playfulness or not.

    ReplyDelete
  166. "Come on, give me a straight answer," Damien prodded her, pretending to whine.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Shiina glared, disliking this Damien. "Whatever," she said, standing up. She looked around for Bryn.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Damien sat back, returning to his regular personality and usual calm and wise expression. "She's in the bathroom. Probably trying to tell Ada off for crying or something." He suddenly realized his mistake of mentioning Ada, and swore in his mind.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Shiina looked at him for a while, then turned around. Her eyes scanned the library for a moment, and she began to leave.

    ReplyDelete
  170. (...)

Damien sighed and leaned forward, pulling her back. "Come on, stay with me for a while. At least until Bryn comes out of the lavatory."

    ReplyDelete
  171. Shiina closed her eyes, glad that he had stopped her. After all, where would she have gone if she left. She leaned into him once more, but this time landing her own mouth on his. "This is what I saw," she said through his mouth. (o.o)

    ReplyDelete
  172. (that was sudden, XD)

Damien, surprised at her change in attitude, tensed but then relaxed into her kiss. He pulled away first, though he didn't want to. "What was that for?" He managed to say, his mouth seemingly frozen.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Shiina COCKed her head at him. "Because you did it to me," she said reasonably.

    ReplyDelete
  174. (hahah)

"I never thought you'd be one to follow trends," Damien responded easily. He would try to prove Ada's theory correct.

    ReplyDelete
  175. ( I like story blogs. ;D )

Ada gave Bryn a weak smile. "Maybe I ought to mention that crying is good for you. It relieves stress. As for why I was crying, ask Damien. I don't want to talk about it."

    ReplyDelete
  176. Damien smiled at Shiina teasingly. "Are you sure you didn't do it because you wanted to? Not as "revenge"?"

Bryn raised an eyebrow. "Not to me it's not. Is it about a boy? Or a person in general? Are your parents dead or evil? Is someone else dead?" She propelled Ada with questions, looking down at the blond girl with slight interest.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Shiina glared at him for a moment. "Revenge? Shut up. That's for my parents."

    ReplyDelete
  178. "My parents? They ignore me. That's nothing to cry over," Ada replied, watching the brunette without expression. "Boys? Not interested in me. It's... Damien told me... about Gwen. What she said. I didn't deserve it," she told Bryn quietly.

    ReplyDelete
  179. (I just posted some bathrooms :D They're under 'Places in Lyreade')

    ReplyDelete
  180. (DG u wna comment there instead?)

Damien returned the glare with a calm gaze. "I can see why," he replied, chin in his palm. "So... um... do you have time on saturday? To hang out?"

    ReplyDelete
  181. Shiina looked at him. "I have to go over my notes from class in the morning," she said more to herself than him. "I'll probably be finished at around noon."

    ReplyDelete
  182. "So... do you want to have lunch in the Café or something? Newt Café, I mean." Damien had no idea why he felt like sinking into the ground in embarrassment. Shiina was just a friend... right?

    ReplyDelete
  183. Shiina thought about the Café. "....ok...." she said quietly, then blushed and turned away.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Damien grinned widely. "Okay then," he smiled, and gave her another brief kiss and a hug then stood up. "It's a date!" He said happily, not even noticing the implying choice of words as he nearly pranced out of the library. Why was he so happy? It wasn't like they were even going out or anything.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Shiina stared after him, confused, then stood up. She needed to cool her head...

    ReplyDelete
  186. (Yeah, sure! Comment there next. :D)

    ReplyDelete
  187. Damien sat there silently.

Bryn walked in, heading immediately to the Spells section.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Devin was looking through a defense against the dark arts book when he heard the shuffling of feet. He decided to ignore them, wanting to read as much as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Bryn passed by the Defense Against the Dark Arts section and paused at a book about Dark Magic. She smiled slightly and took it, turning the corner, only to crash into Devin.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Devin, unprepared for the sudden crash, fell onto the floor. "What the hell are you–" he started, but stopped abruptly when he saw that it was Bryn. "Bryn...?"

    ReplyDelete
  191. Bryn quickly wiped off the surprised expression off her face and rolled her eyes at him. "No crap, Sherlock," she shot at him, crossing her arms. "Sorry for crashing into you, blah blah blah. Get over it."

    (BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!!!!!!! XD)

    ReplyDelete
  192. Devin sighed and stood up, trying to find the page he had been at. Bryn would never change. But that's what made his heart twist whenever he saw her, because he knew that he would never be accepted by her.

    (OOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

    ReplyDelete
  193. (AWWWWWWWW)

Bryn's curiosity took over and she leaned over his shoulder. "Whatcha reading?" She asked, surprising him by being so close to his face. Her eyes narrowed at the page he was flipping. "Looks interesting."
