This classroom is for for the Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. The teacher is Professor Mapps, and he is in Eagletalon. There are 4 rows of 5 desks, and there is a large space up front for demonstrations and other teaching purposes. There is also a teacher's desk and one blackboard on the wall, plus a blackboard with wheels.
Shiina entered the classroom silently, and took a seat at the back of the room. With a slight glare on her face, she took out her textbook, Dark Arts Year 6, and her wand. After preparing all of her items, she put her bag down and started to stare intensely at the blackboard.
ReplyDeleteBryn, who was already sitting one row in front of Shiina, and was cleaning her wand, looked up at her quiet and almost inaudible entrance. She nodded at her classmate curtly, then looked up at Professor Mapps, who was smiling benignly at the class (of only 4 people :/). Gwen glared at Bryn but smiled at Shiina, staying true to her Dracoslyther self. Professor Mapps waved his wand at the blackboard, and the chalk rose and wrote on the board: Blasting Charm ~ Confringo
ReplyDelete"We'll be learning "Confringo" today. It is the blasting charm- Anything the spell meets to explodes in flames."
Shiina immediately looked away from Gwen. True, they were in the same house, but they weren't exactly friends either, merely 'house-mates'. Shiina immediately pointed her wand at the practice target and made it go up in flames. Having read the textbook numerous times, she had already learned all of the various spells and charms in it. Apparently, she had her parent's skills.
ReplyDeleteClass ended, and Shiina silently left the room, off to her next class.
ReplyDeleteGwen dropped her fake smile and rolled her eyes. Typical Dracoslyther attitude. She couldn't believe that she had been put in Dracoslyther- with her genius and talent, she should have been in Eagletalon. After all, she was only in Year 5, and yet she was in a Year 6 class. She was also taking Advanced Charms, Potions, Transfiguration, Lore, Herbology and Care for Magical Creatures courses. Her only average class was Divination, something she had never been fond of. In her irritation, she pointed her slashed her wand across the room, and muttered "Expulsio" in fury under her breath. All the windows imploded, and she stormed out of class. Stupid sorting hat.
ReplyDeleteProfessor Mapps was reading a book on Death Eaters while waiting for his second year students to come in.
ReplyDeleteLeon walked into the classroom. "Hello, professor!"
ReplyDelete"Hello, Leon," Mapps smiled, putting down his book. "Mr. Lupen has told me he might not be able to make the lesson today, so we can begin now." He stood up and wrote on the blackboard with his wand:
ReplyDeleteThe Disarming Spell - Expelliarmus
"This spell is simple but extremely effective. If you have studied for this lesson, you will know that it knocks your opponent's wand from his hand or grasp.
Leon looked a bit disappointed at his friend's absence, but quickly took out his wand. "What should I practice it on, sir?"
ReplyDelete"You can practice on me," Mapps told his student. "There's only you, so it's fine for now." He moved the tables away with a wave of his wand, and stood with his feet together. "I'm ready."
ReplyDeleteLeon was slightly startled. But, since it was his teacher's orders, he would follow. He decided to aim for the legs, so Professor Mapps wouldn't get injured. "Expelliarmus!" he cried.
ReplyDeleteMapps' wand twitched, but he held it tighter. It stopped moving. "Good try, Lamperage, but next time aim for my wand, and concentrate on getting it out of my hand."
ReplyDeleteLeon looked slightly put out, but immediately pointed his wand again at Professor Mapps' wand. "Expelliarmus!" he yelled.
ReplyDeleteMapps' wand flew out of his hand. He smiled. "Very good, Leon, for a second try." He held his hand out towards his wand, murmuring, "Accio wand!", and his wand flew back towards him. "Because you excelled so in this task, I'll teach you another spell: Deprimo. This spell creates a powerful wind that can loosen and/or soften a variety of things. It can also be used to detach objects."
ReplyDeleteLeon had a look of delight on his face. "Deprimo!" he exclaimed.
ReplyDeleteMapps quickly waved his wand and countered the spell before it could take effect. "Okay, not yet. I'll get you a target." He gave Leon a muggle phone. "Now concentrate on the phone ONLY, otherwise if you lose control the whole room might be blown apart, including us."
ReplyDeleteLeon squinted his eyes and concentrated. He decided to do it silently this time. He thought "Deprimo! But only on the phone!"
ReplyDeleteA wind brushed the phone a little, and the phone rattled on the desk. "Great try, Leon!" Mapps said, nodding. "Most second years can't even get a wind going. But, say it out loud next time, because that makes it stronger. You can say it silently when you get more experience with it."
ReplyDelete"OK!" Leon piped, eyes sparkling with delight.
ReplyDelete"Try again," encouraged Mapps.
ReplyDeleteLeon focused and recast the spell, using all of his concentration.
ReplyDeletePollux was late. He was never late, and he hated to be late. He dashed into the classroom to find Leon practicing spells. He quickly rushed up to Prof. Mapps and frantically said: "IM SORRY FOR BEING LATE!"
ReplyDeleteMapps looked down at him. "Hello, Lupen. It's alright, try to be on time next lesson. I would give you two weekends of detention but it's the start of the year so I suppose I'll just give you one."
ReplyDeleteMapps waited for his 2nd Year students to come again.
ReplyDeleteLeon stumbled into the room, spazzing.
ReplyDeleteA few moments later, Haruyuki stepped into the room.
Akinara was alright there, with her bright eyes and long, slender fingers tapping the end of her table. She glanced at the two of them and gave them a little smile. Mapps greeted Leon and Haruyuki and invited them to sit down. "Just one more," he muttered to himself.
ReplyDeleteLeon sat down and had one of his daily seizures. Haruyuki sat next to Akinara and whispered "Hi!".
ReplyDeleteAkinara smiled at Haruyuki. "Hey!" She smiled. "What are we learning today, Professor?" She called to her teacher. He was quiet for a while, thinking.
ReplyDelete"I suppose we'll start without Lupen again," he said. Mapps thought for a while, then smiled. "We'll learn a fun one today," he grinned to his class. "Densaugeo. Makes your target's teeth grow at an alarming rate."
Leon and Haruyuki's eyes widened in surprise, was it? Haruyuki raised her hand. "Uhhh, professor? May I ask when we will need to use this spell?"
ReplyDeleteProfessor Mapps laughed. "Anytime you feel like duelling, or if a student decides to attack you. Never bad to be ready, right?"
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki was silent with embarrassment. Leon looked up brightly and spazzed.
ReplyDeleteAkinara just sighed and sat back in her seat. Professor Mapps watched Leon spazz for the third time. "Kindly stop spazzing, Leon," he said.
ReplyDeleteLeon stopped spazzing and had a seizure. "Sure wish Pollux was here," he thought.
ReplyDeleteMapps sighed. "Alright then. Please practice on your test rats in this box."
ReplyDeleteLeon stopped spazzing and got out a wand. Then he received a rat. Haruyuki did the same.
ReplyDeleteAkinara levitated a rat from the box, and moved it to her desk. She said, "Densaugeo" in a bored voice. The rat's ears, instead of its teeth, grew to twice its size. "Densaugeo!" She said again, in a louder, firmer voice. The rat's teeth grew to four times it's size. It fell off the desk with its added mass.
ReplyDelete"Oops," she giggled, and pointed her wand at the rat, which suddenly flew into the air and exploded in a shower of purple, gooey liquid. Akinara laughed out loud.
ReplyDeleteLeon pointed his wand at the rat. "Densaugeo," he said. Instantly, the rat's teeth were as big as the rat itself. The rat spazzed around in agony.
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki did the same, the rat's teeth expanding even larger than the rat, and the corners of the rat's mouth began to bleed with the largeness of its teeth.
Akinara grinned at Haruyuki. "Good one!" She giggled.
ReplyDeleteMapps looked at the three rats, and winced. "Okay, that's good enough, class." He looked at the rats, waved his wand, and they returned to their original state. "Now do this spell: Furnunculus. It causes the target to be covered in boils."
Haruyuki pointed her wand at the rat. "Fumunculus!" she squeaked. The rat was covered in boils.
ReplyDeleteLeon did the same, getting about the same result.
Pollux stumbled into the classroom, having just finished a butterbeer.
ReplyDelete"I'm sorry for being late again."
He walked to his seat and put his stuff on the desk. He fetched a rat and copied what Leon and Akinara were doing.
Mapps looked at Pollux disapprovingly. He pointed his wand at him, and the empty butterbeer bottle came zooming out of Pollux's pocket towards him. He caught it deftly and he put it on his desk. "Undetectable Extension Charms are magically invisible, but they are still perceivable by the human mind, Lupen," he said sternly. "Sit down. 50 points from Penniluff, and two weekend detentions."
ReplyDeleteAkinara pointed her wand at her rat and whispered, "Furnunculus." The rat's boils were so large that they were bigger than twice its ears. She giggled again, her blue eyes sparkling.
Haruyuki and Leon looked at Akinara strangely.
ReplyDeleteAkinara giggled again, and whispered to Haruyuki, "The rat looks like it has huge zits," she snorted in her laughter.
ReplyDelete(apparently stormy has no idea about the inside joke that's going on.... =.=
ReplyDeletePLUS, you can't say I'm late just because I'm ACTUALLY in class while u guys are commenting.. like that I can similarily say to your students that they are late and have detention.)
Pollux stared blankly. Then he said, "But sir, I don't have a bottle of butterbeer... I threw it in the trash can 10 minutes before I entered class."
Then he looked at Akinara who was laughing really hard, and thought to himself, "The rat looks just like her."
He took out his wand and said, "Fumunculus."
Instantly boils appeared on the rat and he started squealing in pain. Pollux winced.
Mapps stared coldly at his student. "Don't talk back to your teacher, Lupen. Do your work." (sounding like snape :D)
ReplyDeleteAkinara caught Pollux staring. "What are you looking at, wolf boy?" She snapped, her sapphire eyes darkening to a indigo.
Leon and Haruyuki sat there, bored.
ReplyDeletePollux quickly realized that the he wasn't staring at Akinara when he said that. He turned around to reply, "I wasn't staring at you."
ReplyDeleteMapps looked at Leon and Haruyuki. "Are you taking notes? You should be," he said irritably, obviously in a bad mood.
ReplyDeleteLeon and Haruyuki immediately scribbled down notes, wondering what the cause of Professor Mapps' anger was.
ReplyDelete(XD anger management, dude)
ReplyDelete(lol yea)
ReplyDeleteMapps stalked back to his table and scratched something in his notebook. Akinara watched her rat writhe in agony, her eyes looking interested and amused.
Pollux flipped open his notebook and wrote the words 'FUMUNCULUS' at the top. Then he drew a quick sketch of the rat and started scribbling notes.
ReplyDeleteLeon drew some diagrams of boils, while Haruyuki drew the rat, before and after the charm.
ReplyDeletePollux was done writing notes then stared longer at the rat. It looked at him, pleadingly. Then he wrenched his mind away from the rat and started to draw a hippogriff at the corner of his page.
ReplyDeleteAkinara did the same as everyone else. After a while, Mapps stood up. "Class is over. Your homework for today is: poster on the origins and effects of 'furnunculus', and a short (at least 500 words) on the origins and modern popularity of 'densaugeo'."
ReplyDeleteLeon glanced at Pollux for a moment, trying to stop himself from spazzing, and left the room.
ReplyDeleteHaruyuki left, mumbling something about boils.
Akinara followed Haruyuki out the door, leaving Pollux behind. Her mouse was perched on her shoulder.
ReplyDeletePollux gathered his things from his desk and waddled out of the room
ReplyDelete(duck!!!! lol)
ReplyDelete(then he waddled away, waddle waddlewaddle!)
ReplyDeleteShiina walked into the room with Bryn.
ReplyDeleteMapps stood behind his desk, waiting for his year 6 class to arrive.
ReplyDeleteMapps nodded to both of them, and Gwen and Damien walked in as well. Bryn sat in the back with Shiina. Damien sat with Devin one row in front of them. Gwen sat in the far left corner in the front.
ReplyDeleteMapps waved his wand, and the room turned pitch black. "Today we have an interesting lesson, class," Mapps said from somewhere in the room. "We will be practicing dueling in the dark."
ReplyDeleteShiina looked up at Mapps in surprise.
ReplyDeleteDevin snorted arrogantly and whispered to Damien. "My best subject."
Damien looked interested. He looked at Devin and grinned. "I'll bet. You're always in the dark," he teased.
ReplyDeleteBryn smirked. "Awesome," she whispered under her breath. Gwen looked bored.
Mapps said, "Lumos Maximos!" and a huge light came from his wand, letting the room light up again. "We will be practicing sensory techniques, to heighten your different senses." He waved his wand and the light was gone again. "Devin, find Bryn. Damien, find Shiina. Gwen, stay where you are."
Shiina narrowed her eyes, but stayed still. Devin started to grope around, and his fingers closed around something......
ReplyDeleteBryn let out a squeak, and jumped away. "Devin?" She heard a chuckle, and she narrowed her eyes. "You pervert!" She shrieked, and began to pummel the person in front of her with her fists. It must have hurt, because Bryn did not hit lightly.
ReplyDeleteDamien moved around the room, feeling the tables, estimating where Shiina was, when he pinpointed her position, he moved around her so that he was behind her. He smirked, then suddenly clapped his hands on her shoulders.
Devin winced but continued to laugh.
ReplyDeleteShiina jumped in surprise and leapt away. Well, she tried to. She ran into a desk. "Ow."
Bryn growled at him, and the lights suddenly flickered back on, revealing an angry Bryn leaning over an amused but injured Devin and a Damien rushing towards an annoyed Shiina.
ReplyDeleteShiina glared slightly at Damien.
ReplyDeleteDevin continued to laugh. (lol)
Bryn slapped Devin. "Shut up, you idiot." Mapps looked at Bryn. "There is no need for violence in Lyreade, Miss Reedwing."
ReplyDelete"We're in Defense Against the Dark Arts, how much closer to a violent class can you get?" She retorted.
Mapps glared at Bryn. "Detention on saturday, Miss Reedwing. At 3pm, in my office.'
Bryn glared at him.
Damien grinned down at her, and extended an arm to help her up.
Shiina looked away and got up by herself.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Devin had to choke back a laugh.
Damien looked a little hurt, and awkwardly pulled his arm away.
ReplyDeleteBryn glared at him.
Shiina, noticing his hurt, was confused.
ReplyDeleteDamien sighed, and went back to his seat. Mapps cleared his throat, then pointed tables. They gave way to a space in the middle of the room. Partner up, people! Your choice."
ReplyDeleteShiina walked over to Bryn, not interested in the males. (XD)
ReplyDeleteDevin laughed and went over to Damien.
Bryn smiled at Shiina. Damien nodded at his friend. Gwen looked at the others with a slightly melancholy gaze.
ReplyDeleteMapps pointed at the board. Words began appearing on the blackboards in chalk- Disarming Charms, Protection Charms, and Petrificus Totalus
"You all know these spells, because you learned them in year one and two. Use expelliarmus, protego, and petrificus totalus to duel your partner in the dark. Face each other now." With a wave of his wand, Mapps made the room go dark once more.
Shiina pointed her wand at where Bryn was supposedly standing. "Expeliarmus," she muttered.
ReplyDeleteBryn heard her and let out a squeak of "Protego!" And there was a little glow of white light. The spell rebounded and hit a window. Damien paused for a second, then quickly said, "Petrificus Totalus!", waving his wand in the general direction of Devin.
ReplyDeleteDevin, hearing the spell, quickly stepped away. He tried a disarming spell on Damien.
ReplyDeleteShiina narrowed her eyes. Winning against Bryn was pretty hard. She stepped aside as she heard another spell being casted.
Damien gave a swift wave of his wand, and blocked the spell. He shot another disarming spell at Devin. Bryn slashed her wand across the room, thinking petrificus totalus, so that Shiina wouldn't hear it coming.
ReplyDeleteDevin snarled and blocked the spell. He fired yet another spell at Damien. Shiina, seeing the brightness of the spell, tried to block the spell but failed. She fell to the floor painfully.
ReplyDeleteDamien almost lazily deflected the spell and waited for the next one to get at him. Bryn let out a squeak of alarm and ran forward to check on her friend. She quickly muttered the counterspell.
ReplyDeleteDevin, slightly frustrated, casted spell after spell after spell. Shiina sat up and looked at Bryn. She smiled. Perfect chance. She quickly fired a disarming spell at her friend.
ReplyDeleteBryn frowned as her wand flew out of her hand. She quickly muttered a "accio wand" and it came zooming back at her. Bryn caught it deftly and quickly said 'Incarcerous' under her breath, tying Shiina up with ropes.
ReplyDeleteShiina winced under the tight ropes and attempted to break them.
ReplyDeleteMapps suddenly turned the light back on as Damien just barely dodged a spell and Bryn was standing over a struggling Shiina. "Miss Reedwing, I said disarming and petrificus totalus ONLY!"
ReplyDeleteThe classroom was silent as the students turned to him.
ReplyDeleteMapps sighed, and pointed his wand toward Shiina. The ropes disappeared instantly. "Okay, homework is reading and annotating pages 50 to 72 in your textbooks. It's not much, so no excuses. Class is over." Bryn helped Shiina up, and Damien nodded at Devin. Gwen left the class.
ReplyDeleteShiina rubbed her red hands and walked away with Bryn. Devin walked over to Devin.
ReplyDelete(Uhhhhhh....)
ReplyDeleteDamien looked at his watch. "Dinner time," he commented. "We should go."
(:D TYPO)
ReplyDeleteDevin nodded and they both left.
Devin was lead into the classroom by Mapps. "I get it!" he hollered in the empty space. "Let me go!"
ReplyDeleteMapps glared at him. "Try not to yell, boy," he told him sternly. Damien snorted in amusement at his friend's "torture". "Go sit down, Mr.Linke," Mapps told Devin, and faced the class. "Okay. We'll be learning about protection spells today. First of all, what do we know?"
ReplyDeleteDamien's hand shot up. "Muggle-repelling spells, Dark magic-repelling spells, and hex-repelling charms. They all protect an area or a person. You can't use it on yourself, only on others. There are a few barrier charms, that protect an area from objects or people."
Mapps nodded. "Very good. Anything else?"
Devin was speechless. "Uhhh...." he started, then shut his mouth so that Mapps wouldn't pick on him. There was NO way that he knew anything else. Shiina sat next to Bryn, and said, "Erm.. A lot of them drain your energy, I guess," she said, looking bored.
ReplyDeleteMapps rolled his eyes. "Yes, they do, and cannot be held for too long. Okay, anything else?"
ReplyDeleteDamien's hand shot up again, and Mapps looked slightly proud but he ignored the Eagletalon. "Right then, turn to page two-seventeen of your textbooks. It should say "Magical Protection"."
There was the sound of paper shuffling as the students flipped through their textbooks. "We all there? Good. I want you to read and annotate these first two chapters. I will stop you after twenty-five minutes.
(98 COMMENTS O.O)
ReplyDeleteShiina sighed as she looked down at her book. She had already gone through it while Damien was doing his homework in the library. She rescanned the text, looking for anything that she might have missed.
Devin grumbled as he looked at the big block of text, but got out a quill and some parchment.
Bryn was already scribbling away, and Damien looked around then stood up and went to Mapps. The professor nodded after a while and told Damien something. Damien went back to his seat and pulled out one of his own books to read.
ReplyDeleteDevin slowly took his notes, writing in big, blocky letters. He looked over at Damien and sighed. He was always at the bottom of his class....
ReplyDeleteBryn looked up at Devin and sighed, and threw a crumpled up piece of paper at him. It was one chapter, already annotated, and a note:
ReplyDeleteCheer up, dude. You're meeting me at nine, remember?
Devin looked over her notes quietly, and stole a glance back, nodding quickly, hoping that she had seen the nod.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked up, a little surprised, but quickly gazed back at the book when Mapps looked up.
Mapps narrowed his eyes but continued working on his paperwork. Bryn smiled slightly and kept on writing. Damien flipped a page.
ReplyDelete(..)
ReplyDeleteShiina finished looking over her notes and looked up at the front of the classroom.
Devin sighed, and quickly finished the rest of his sloppy notes.
Bryn sat back, satisfied, and Damien was of course already done. Mapps looked up. "There's five more minutes. Look over your notes, or read." Bryn decided to review her notes and Damien shrugged and continued reading.
ReplyDeleteShiina sighed and pulled out a thick book about advanced spells. She flipped to the middle and began to read.
ReplyDeleteDevin didn't want to do either, so he just stared down at his textbook.
Finally Mapps stood. "Okay. Look at your notes, and memorize them because we will be having a quiz next week. For now, I would like you to partner up and work on a project- a poster on the different protection spells." Bryn wasn't sure whether to partner with Shiina or Devin, and Damien wasn't sure whether he should work with either as well. The two looked at each other and shrugged.
ReplyDeleteShiina sat in her seat, not bothering to look at anyone. "They'll sort it out," she thought.
ReplyDeleteDevin looked around. "So...?" he started.
Bryn sighed, and walked over to Shiina. "Hey. We haven't worked together in a while."
ReplyDelete"Okay, so that leaves Mr. Linke with Mr. Kumataka. Right, I want detail, good visual presentation, and clear, precise information. Get to work!" Mapps ordered.
Shiina looked over at Bryn. "OK, how bout we make a list of what we know and then research everything else first?" she asked. "It'll be easier to do the poster with our notes."
ReplyDeleteDevin sighed and looked up at Damien. "So?" he asked. "What do you wanna do first?"
Bryn nodded and showed Shiina her notes. "We'll make a list of what we don't know so we can go to the library later."
ReplyDeleteDamien held out his hands. "Your notes, please. We'll need to organize them into sections."
Above the noise, Mapps called out, "This will be due next week, on Monday!"
(It's tuesday)
Shiina nodded. "Let's compare our notes."
ReplyDeleteDevin sighed at the announcement, and handed over his notes. "Sorry," he said, before Damien had a chance to glance at them.
Bryn gave Shiina her two sheets of notes and took out another sheet of parchment for the list.
ReplyDeleteDamien raised an eyebrow at Devin's messy handwriting and disorganized notes. "Okay, let's see then..." he said as he tried to make out a word that looked like "marbles" and another that looked like "yessir".
Shiina glanced over at her and Bryn's notes, her red eyes darting back and forth between the two papers. "They're about the same," she noted.
ReplyDeleteDevin watched as Damien looked over his notes. At times like this, he felt really stupid. Devin was actually glad that he hadn't been paired up with Bryn.
Bryn nodded. "Yeah. Okay, let's write down what we don't know." She held her quill at the ready, starting to write things down.
ReplyDeleteDamien grunted and rewrote Devin's notes on his own paper in neater handwriting, then looked over them. "Alright, we'll need to compile them in sections. Help me?" He asked his friend, taking out three different colors of ink.
Shiina stared down, watching Bryn write. Her eyes traced the end of the quill as it 'danced' around on the paper.
ReplyDeleteDevin nodded. "But you'd better write," he growled, feeling defeated.
Bryn looked up in a few minutes, having written down four points of what they didn't know. "Anything else?" She asked her friend, looking for new ideas.
ReplyDeleteDamien nodded his agreement sheepishly. "Okay, any ideas? I was thinking we could sort them by sections on our poster. Like, history, how it works, etc."
Shiina shrugged. "I think that sums it up," she said. "Shall we head to the library?"
ReplyDeleteDevin nodded. "Hm..." he said. "I could draw some pictures...." as much as he hated it, he was actually a really good artist.
Bryn nodded, and went to ask Mapps, who nodded and sent them off with a wave of his hand.
ReplyDeleteDamien smiled. "Yeah, good idea. You're good at that. What other sections?"
Shiina turned to Bryn. "Let's go!" she said, grabbing the parchment and her friend's wrist, dashing off.
ReplyDeleteDevin shrugged. "Maybe a list of some spells and....."
Bryn sighed as she ran with her. Was she the one being dragged off now? (LOL)
ReplyDelete"Of course there's that, we need sections for each spell," Damien explained, mapping the poster out.
Devin looked down at the diagram. "I think that's about it," he said. "Do we have enough research?"
ReplyDeleteDamien shook his head. "We'll have to go to the library. Okay, let's write down what we need to find in the library."
ReplyDeleteDevin nodded. "I'll go ask Mapps," he said, and walked away, promptly coming back. "Let's go!" he called.
ReplyDelete(devin doesnt know about the prophecy, does he? ;))
(no, he doesn't)
ReplyDeleteDamien hurried after him grabbing his bag and rushing out of the room. Mapps watched all his students go and opened a fiction book that Muggles wrote and smiled at the comparisons.
Bryn and Shiina were already scribbling away when Devin and Damien rushed in. "Let's get to work!" Devin said, getting out his books.
ReplyDeleteDamien nodded, taking out a poster and working on it.
ReplyDeleteDevin peered over his shoulder. "What kind of drawings are we gonna need?" he asked, his mind already laying out a fresh white piece of paper and a sharp pencil.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked up from the notes. "So," she said. "What should we add first?"
Damien looked thoughtful. "Probably diagrams on how the spells work and drawings of the people who invented it."
ReplyDeleteBryn laid out a sketch of the poster that she had drawn. "I was thinking that it would look like this," she said to Shiina.
Devin nodded and pulled out materials, taking a quick look at the info. He slowly began his MASTERPIECE :D.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked over. "That looks good," she said. "Shall we start?"
Damien smiled and began to write things out on the poster.
ReplyDeleteBryn nodded, and began to scribble on the poster in her long, cursive writing that she had inherited from her mother.
Devin drew with quick strokes, stopping now and then to erase.
ReplyDeleteShiina thought for a moment, and wrote in small, blocky letters, a trait that had been passed down from her kanji writing. ( i guess )
Damien was writing in his quick shorthand, referring to his notes every now and then.
ReplyDeleteBryn did a little cartoon drawing thing next to a section as visual presentation, adding a little plant growing out of the character's head. She giggled a little.
Devin quickly finished up a spell and started on a person, sighing as he drew one eye a few millimeters downwards in contrast to the other eye.
ReplyDeleteShiina looked over and raised an eyebrow, still writing. She finished her passage with a small anime character head.
Bryn pointed at the poster. "We'll do one more section each and then we'll do the decorations together, okay?" She said, and began working on her last bit of the project. Just then, Mapps stood up.
ReplyDelete"Class is over, people. Go to dinner now. It's 7 o' clock." Mapps waved his wand and the posters flew to him. "You'll be working on this only in class. Off you go, now!"
Damien immediately walked over to Shiina and kissed her softly. "Hi. How's your project going along?" Bryn stayed where she was, not sure whether to go to Devin or to stay with her best friend and her boyfriend.
Shiina clenched her teeth together in slight embarrassment. "Well, let's go," she said, putting her and Bryn's work on a shelf that hung above the classroom.
ReplyDeleteDevin walked over to Bryn. "Er-well I guess we should go too," he said awkwardly.
Bryn gave him a look. "Toughen up, dude," she said, and then dragged him out the door, her bag over her shoulder.
ReplyDeleteDevin sighed as he was dragged along. "Jeez...."
ReplyDelete
