This is where the Deputy Headmaster works and usually dwells. It is well furnished with a rug, a oak desk, and many lamps that light up the room. The Deputy Headmaster is William Flavius Krumiage, the Herbology teacher.
"I'm sure you know how seers have... certain symptoms when they see too much into the future. I have a great interest in such seers." Damien stared right back at the teacher.
"I would like to know the cure of a specific symptom. Or rather, the herbs that are required in making such a cure." He said this bluntly as he looked at the professor.
Krumiage smiled teasingly. "Curiouser and curiouser," he said. "I just happen to have a sample here." He held up a vial filled with a royal purple substance.
Krumiage opened his eyes and looked at Damien seriously. "Don't think I don't know anything about the students in this school, boy," he said. Then he smiled again. "Take it if you wish." he placed it on his desk and went back to his paperwork.
Krumiage looked at Damien. The corners of his mouth turned up in a small smile. "Shiina Natsumoto. House: Dracoslyther. Rank: House head. Wand: Japanese Maple, 11 inches. Has a core of a raven feather. Familiar: A crow named Yuzuru. She fled from evil wizard parents and came to the school after being invited. No one has ever seen her smile. And...." he looked at Damien with his hazel eyes. "Her history is as dark as midnight. I know far more than you do, young wizard. But you don't need to know anything else." He smiled again. "Professor Knapp trusts me." He tossed the vial to Damien. "Now, the question is, do YOU?"
Damien ignored his last question. "That was a list of things about a fellow head of house. Not a symptom. Do you know what a symptom is?" He added scathingly, getting annoyed.
Krumiage smiled once again (JESUS). "Our little seer grown up, to many people's surprise. It's a wonder someone could grow up coughing blood their whole life, isn't it?" his face showed no emotion but cheerfulness.
Damien narrowed his eyes at Krumiage further. "And to your question, professor," he spat the last word, "No." He turned and left, slamming the door shut.
Bryn literally kicked down the door of Krumiage's office as she and Shiina went in. She looked around. Nobody. "What the hell?" She muttered. "The Greenhouse," she ordered, and marched out again, not bothering to repair the broken door.
Damien knocked lightly on the door of Krumiage's office. "Um, Professor Krumiage? May I come in?"
ReplyDeleteKrumiage looked up, anticipating this moment that Kasumi had predicted. "Yes," he replied in a deep solemn voice.
ReplyDeleteDamien walked into the room. "I'd like to ask you a question."
ReplyDeleteKrumiage looked up at the boy expectantly, just as he had when Kasumi saw it. His eyes revealed nothing.

ReplyDeleteKrumiage's eyes remained no expression. "What is it that you want, young boy?" he said, feeling like an old man.
